Amazon [amazon.com] also has it at the same price.

These TVs, up to this point at least, always have issues. 4K120 gaming is an issue, banding & posterization are issues, etc. This set uses the same SOC as the 2021 U8G (which is also 8 bit FRC panel), so while they added mini LED tech to this U8H it still has some of the same issues.

Basically if you've never had an OLED or QLED, you'll tolerate the issues because the picture quality is a massive improvement in most cases. If you have experience with QLED/OLED you might find the issues unforgivable.

The U8K dropping this summer should have a different SOC so it will be interesting to see if some issues are mitigated or remain. Hisense is gonna be in a tough spot if QD-OLED moves closer in price…if I can get a QD-OLED for under $1500 I don't know that I'd buy a Hisense ULED/MiniLED for $1000 (even though they keep improving it).
I have an older "premium" Hisense - the H8G from late 2020. Picture quality is fantastic esp. for the price. My brother got the same model and neither of us have had any issues.

One thing to keep in mind though: do not expect any reasonable software update support. Mine is still stuck on the Feb 2021 android security patch. I reached out to their support to see if there was a later update that wasn't showing up OTA, and they sent me an update file timestamped Mar 2021 so I didn't even bother installing it.

That's about half a year of security update support from when it was released to market.

If you get this, I would recommended against connecting it to the internet and instead using a streaming box/stick that doesn't leave a hole in your network.
Any concerns that this isn't a true 10 inch panel and instead an 8 bit with FRC? I understand the reviews at sites like Rtings are great, but lots of user reviews out there showing issues with banding and posterization on this TV.

I mean, you are not supposed to connect the Samsung QD-OLED to the internet either, though it's for a different reason lol.

Because the Android OS TV implementation on this TV is just not that smart and actually a little slow. . .and smart people aren't as easily offended.
in what ways is it worse than how roku limits you to only apps they want you to use?

Yes sir the tuner thing is huge for me
I have this tv and I thought the tuner would be awesome but it's been meh (not necessarily the fault of the tv). I live watching NFL games but my local stations will broadcast the games at 1080p but only 30hz. It's awful. Other channels do 720p with HDR color and those are ok. Something's the tuner gives me errors too (TVs fault).

Be warned that these sets are extremely fragile. My dad and I hung the 75" version last week and barely touched the top of the screen and that was it. Ruined.

U8k are around the corner..

In addition to twice as many local dimming zones, it now boasts up to 1500 nits brightness. Combined with its anti-glare and low reflection panel, this gives you the best picture quality, even in sunny rooms.

Other visual upgrades to this series include IMAX enhanced, FilmMaker mode, Dolby Vision IQ, Quantum Dot, Dolby Dark Detail, and HDR10+, anti-glare and low reflection panel, Wifi 6e, NEXTGEN TV ATSC 3.0 OTA tuner.

Guys lol The 75" will have twice the dimming zones cuz it's weak. Not the entire line up lol Let's be rational. That's a legal marketing gimmick where they can advertise that cuz it's only true for the 75" cuz it's what 20-30 dimming zones more than the 65" currently? This way it sounds like the entire lineup has double dimming zones.

for what its worth, i have this 65 inch model and got it for an area with pretty good natural light (its a bright TV!) and wanted something bigger on the wall

I also have LG CX oled
I use a 48 inch LG C2 oled as my monitor

This tv obviously is not as good as an oled but it has exceeded my expectations for my use and general viewing. I sometimes watch it at a steep angle and I can still make out the picture perfectly fine. I dont see much banding or blooming at all either

I have an xbox series x hooked up to it and everytghing plays fine.

Definitely turn off ALL ALL ALL motion smoothing judder etc - turn it OFF dont bother or you will get a weird stutter during movies shows etc. Some people claim its the built in apps but i noticed it on built in, apple tv, fire stick and xbox apps, never games however.

With that said, based on some other reviews i think i may have hit the panel jackpot on this one.

Does anyone know what the lowest price ever for this TV was ?
P.C. Richard & Son had it for $879.99 back in January: https://slickdeals.net/f/16392325-hisense-u8h-series-quantum-4k-uled-mini-led-65-inch-smart-google-tv-879-99-free-delivery?p=161232976#post161232976

Bought this a month ago and have been very happy. I was replacing a 55" KS8000 that was starting to fail. Been very happy with it. HDR content looks fantastic. Brightness does a great job overcoming the daylight coming in through my living room windows b

I agree with others that QD-OLED is going to have the best picture. If your budget affords it or you're willing to hold out for a better deal, you'll be happy with your choice, especially if you have a light controlled room.

The 2023 sets are going to be hitting the market over the next few months, which will be driving down the price on 2022 models (and any lingering 2021 models). I'm especially especially interested in the what coming from Samsung. I'm hoping they address the physical bending issues (too thin) and problems with the Tizen OS.

S95B 65" was $1250 over the weekend via Samsung EPP. If you work for a large corporation that has perkspot, you can click the link in that email to qualify. Otherwise you need a .edu email or AAA membership.

They're sold out for now, but we'll see if the same deal or better comes back around again. Question also is will the S95C (better build quality) get down to $1250 in a year, or is that price point only that low because of the build quality issues of S95B….

Just saw a new youtube video from rtings, QD-OLED has an even worse burn-in issue than regular OLED

I would definitely set this up in basic mode and connect a streaming device to it. Hisense's version of Google TV is not very good and won't get proper updates after the new version is released.

Honestly...I think the Samsung QN90a is a better set than this Hisense U8H and the Samsung had been $1000 ish several times over the months in 2022

Yes...OLED is a different beast but for similar money I would have bought the Samsung QN90a
Just wish Samsung would add support for Dolby Vision. Some people say they can't tell the difference, but I've seen them side by side many times and the DV just pops more. That would make it a no brainer near the same price, but in its current form it's anything but, for me at least.
