I learned that the hard way from a previous sale of theirs

Does the value of the price reduction reflect the scales of imperfection?
It's weird that '8.5qt Black oval shiny' is $199, while '8.5qt Black oval matte' is $409.
And what kind of imperfections can I expect on cast iron Dutch oven?
I've ordered quite a few of the "imperfect" ones from this site. Never have I seen anything that caused me any concern. Typically it's a small discoloration or mark in the enamel outside coloring. Sometimes, I couldn't find anything.
I got the 4qt a couple weeks back. It's very versatile. Braised a pork butt, deep fried chicken. The lid has bumps on the inside and it self bastes anything you slow cook. Very pleased.

Is there any reason besides appearance to choose these over borosilicate glass like Pyrex?
It says these are good up to 572 degrees and Pyrex is 425; also, you have to be careful how you heat up Pyrex (large quick temperature shift I believe can break it)

I bought a knife from one of those sales and it had a plainly obvious, cracked bolster. It wasn't even usable. I had to write to the New York Attorney General to even get them to respond and ended up contacting American Express to get my money back. In the meantime, they did send a replacement, another unusable knife except this time, it was merely a large chip in the bolster, not a crack. They never challenged the chargeback so I just let it go.
They're basically the Jomashop of kitchenware. Good deals to be had if you want to roll the dice. If you wind up having to actually deal with customer service though, good luck.
I have 6 or so of the medium containers for various raw ingredients that I'll use for the week. Keeps things like chopped onion and cilantro fresh for the duration.
I saw the $50 price a few days ago, but after putting it off and coming back, I see the price is at $69.99, even though I'm signed into my account. It's still on sale, but it seems they marked up the item.
