Good try Staff, but try again with your "deal."

Other than a few blips of price jumps since about August 2021, Triple Camel has shown this to be the normal price.
Kinda smells like state media and I cannot find any other source talking about the same concern. Wonder why a Chinese media outlet would take a shot at a hugely successful US company like Lodge...

It's obviously very small. It is mainly pointless compared to a 10" skillet. The one thing we like ours for is for cornbread. One pack of Jiffy fills it. It's perfect for a family of four for a single meal, or for a couple for a couple meals.

Can this be used on a bon fire? Would cast iron be ideal for something like that?

So...after you cleaned/washed it, you need to rub it with cooking oil?

there's some learning curve to work with cast iron. we have been using pan to cook flatbread similar to tortilla and had one in our family from decades. we would wash it everyday and i never heard of something called seasoning but yes, if it would get rough then we would use steel wool to clean it and then if those flatbread would stick then we would just sprinkle a little whole wheat flour when hot and wipe it with kitchen cloth and continue cooking on it. we have never "seasoned" it with oil. to avoid getting rust, we would heat it after washing to evaporate water and we were good to go. used it like for over 3 decades - a single griddle by my mom.

There are a ton of YouTube videos out there on seasoning cast iron. This is most likely preseasoned but most cast iron purist out there will likely recommend re-seasoning it.

Better over the hot coals once the fire dies down. If you use it over a non for you'll burn the food and strip the seasoning.

Yes this is exactly what you want to use. Its also naturally nonstick if you season it and dont wash it unless you absolutely need to. theres bit of a learning curve but since i picked it up, i havent need to wash mine for years. ALso when you do wash it, you just re season it in the oven. I have had my whole set for over 10 yrs. Also its it doesnt have any chemical coated surfaces. I like it because my grandma and mom cooked exclusively using cast iron and theres something about the taste. Cripy things get krispy so well. it regulates heat very well.

Weird comment because they do sell a 12". It's $25.

As to the 8" size, I'm not sure why so many are bemoaning the size. A small indestructible casserole or dip or meal for one dish for $12 is a pretty good deal. Not having a handle means it goes into an oven (and I use a countertop oven almost exclusively) very easily. I have a breadth of pans and skillets in my kitchen and I don't always grab a large baker. I could see using this to make an individual size shepherds pie, a pot pie or even a cobbler. This might not be a great deal vs the normal price on these but as a versatile kitchen item, it seems like a decent value.
