Maybe the price could be somewhat justified if there was more than 1 expansion port so you could have several of these, but you can't. So you're naturally incentivised to buy the biggest capacity. I'm resisting and sticking with a slow external hdd until i have enough native x/s titles to require a native expansion card.
They're hot swappable. That is why MS went with the proprietary implementation. So no, you're not incentivized to get the biggest one because you're not limited to using one.

I got best buy to price match as I had a 15 dollar certificate to burn. Gamestop which I have gift cards to would. Not price match a "sale" price.

can't do any NVME Drive. Only SN530 drives that are 1TB and still very hit or miss

PS5 36 cu's for 500 dollars. Series X 52 cu's for 500 dollars. Something was obviously subsidizing the far more powerful console. 44% more cu's had to have cost more.

I honestly don't see any good reason to buy one at all. Finished a game? Great--uninstall it, free up the space and move on.

These drives are a rip-off. The Microsoft equivalent of PS Vita memory cards.

Incorrect. These are literally just NVMe 2230 drives packaged into a CFast type B adapter.
