Thanks OP!

Noticed that this morning. With all the new XBOX inventory these are a nice add on for the S model.

Tempted to get one for the X but seems that the prices for drives this week have been dropping.

Looks like the absolute best deal ever was ~$178 from Target: https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/14670368
Seems like a pretty standard sale for it is ~$187. So $190 seems like a pretty solid deal.

Is there another cheaper alternative or a home made version?

Lmfao. 1tb for almost 2 bills? Thank god I paid 100 for 1tb with heatsink 530 firecuda on last months deal. Xbox users out here taking L's. They claim they were paying the high price because its PLUG n PLAY. Ya jus push it in. Installing ps5 m.2 is just 1 small screw removal and cost $150 dollars less. Xbots getting played by Phil Spencer.
Yep. I did the same. I put a 2tb in my PS5. I have only been buying PS5 games since. $190 is too much for 1TB. So XBOX will not get my game $ until they drop the prices of their expanded memory.

$190 is too much for 1TB. I would wait.

What's your ps5 collection like? I'm building my physical collection, I got almost 50 titles.

I think it'll take a while since many like me didn't even get a Series X until they recently started being in stock. So there will be demand for these for a while. I'd rather get the 2TB version eventually.

Imagine being broke 🤣 can't be me but have fun spending 80$ on a new controller in about 4-5 months they are trash. Sony won't get my money anymore
I have had my PS5 since launch. No issues with my controllers. The controllers retail for $70 but they do a lot more than Xbox controllers. They also have a built in rechargeable battery. Which in itself is worth $10+$'s. Xbox controllers retail for $60. I'm not pro Sony or pro XBOX I enjoy them both, however Xbox is hosing us with the memory prices.

Sony's DualSense offers much more player-facing technology. While it too offers Bluetooth connectivity, the headline addition is haptic feedback and the adaptive triggers. In addition, the DualSense has its own built-in microphone

Think I heard the exclusivity for Seagate is temporary, so I'd definitely hold out if you don't need it asap.

I own both next gen systems. Not here to argue about which is better, but I think this product needs to be about $130 max. I'd have bought one long ago if it were more affordable, but this $200+ price point is too much to justify. I use my Xbox more than PS5 but ironically have a gen4 SSD in my PS5 because they are so much more affordable. My Series X is stuck with a USB 3 SSD that I shuffle older-gen games onto.

I want both systems to succeed to their maximum potential for the sake of competition and benefit of the consumer. Xbox storage expansion prices at this level does not help that.

I thought that Seagate had exclusive rights for 1 year and we'd start seeing some real competition after that mark, but either that timeline is false, or no other competitors are interested. I thought for-sure last Christmas we'd have cheaper clones out and I'd get one then. It's nearly 6 months later and $190 is still a "deal". I like my Series X but this is not a deal.

(The PS5 controller build-quality is better than Xbox -- fact.)

I mean fanboyism aside, it's kind of tough to justify paying roughly 50% more and get half the performance while at it. Seagate and Microsoft will hopefully wake up.
