I've been looking at these for a while; does anyone know if there's an alternative except the the SN530 / Chinese adapter kit? Like is Seagate the only one making these? Really sucks to be trapped like this hah. Thanks

The list price for the 1 TB WD is $180. It will likely go for less than that from time to time but it might be some months before we regularly have sub-$150 options.

I'd wait and see where the prices go after we have more selection of aftermarket drives.

Bout time. I'm glad to give seagate the walkout. Tbh I'm glad to ignore this component. Sick of Microsoft bricking the third party workaround too.

Given the price drop of storage as of late these still have room to fall.

To my knowledge these adapters will not work. Microsoft is still locking them out. If someone knows of a way to get these to work, please share.

Seagate exclusivity ends soon. They're trying to clear inventory before they have to drop prices even harder

Preach!!!!!!!

Americans are addicted to consumerism. It's been real nice taking a step back from unnecessary spending.
