Whelp here we go... people who don't pay attention to gen 4 prices for m.2 being $180++ will be incoming to comment about how overpriced this is because they are comparing to gen 3 prices

I get that but these have to come down or double 2TB for same price. Ima just continue using ssd & transfer x/s on principle until they do.
I'll take these with a higher price anyday over the mess with adding storage to a ps5. Even if it meets all of Sony requirements it's still not guaranteed to work. And I own a ps5 as well...not just a Xbox fan boy

I also own both and dread the thought of having to install one on my ps5. And I build PCs so I'm not stranger to assembling electronics. I just don't want the hassle of having to wrangle my ps5 out the entertainment center and then take it apart. Now matter how few steps it is. It's more of a pain then just plugging into the back of the console

Agreed...while these may be more expensive the ease of plug & play is well worth it vs taking the shell off installing hoping you have a compatible one, making sure you have the correct sized one, if you didn't get one with a heat sink, installing that...

The problem isn't now, the problem is going to be next year when those prices are cut in half and this is still 180+, but you are right, for now this is a good deal.

I think the prices on these will keep falling. They've come down from $220 just since November launch. I have a series X and an S so it will be nice to just move it back and forth depending on which room I'm in. But I don't need this yet so I'm hoping it will be around $150 by the time I do.

I agree with this, however within a few weeks I'm sure there will be tons of posts online as to which specific models have worked.

Oh so every other memory will come down in price but not this one or other models that might come up soon? Got it...

I assume I am doing the same thing you are.
I have a 1tb M.2 in a tiny enclosure double sided taped to the back of my XSX. All X|S enhanced games that I am playing live on internal storage, everything else either runs on or is stored on the external.

Yup, similar. I have a 4TB sndk ssd in a USB c enclosure. Only 120GB x/s space left internal, eeek.
