Xbox Series X/S Expansion Card 1TB

I was able to use 15% off Site wide Target Circle, 10% off one electronics target circle and 5% Red Card to bring down the price to $145.34 before tax.

At the very least for the users whose accounts don't include the 15% off site wide, with the 10% off target circle offer the price becomes $179.99 which I think is still a decent price for this proprietary storage solution for the Xbox's

It's only for select targeted accounts. Some will see it. Others may not.

I wonder what the criteria is. I never seem to get the higher % discounts.

Not bad though I can't justify spending more than $100 on storage.

Yeah, I'll do the game swap dance until 1Tb is below $150 MSRP. Ideally $120 for 1Tb expansion. Or $200 for 2Tb. I know it's high end memory, but I just got a top of the line 2Tb 980 Pro for $190 shipped for my PC. Another $10 for an enclosure…

Just upgraded my PS5. I can wait for Xbox.

I agreed. I only play 3 games at a time, so I just buy a 5tb portable external hard drive.

Does your external drive work on the XSX?

I have a 5year old 3tb My Passport hd (used it with a XOS)that the Xbox S|X recognized immediately.

Why wouldn't it? As they mentioned, they play 3 games at a time, so the external drive is useful to store games and you can easily transfer current gen games to the internal ssd. But you can play any older game and use all of your apps on the external.

Yes, but you can't play Series S or X games that are stored on there. You have to transfer them to the internal storage. I keep considering getting this, but I don't need a ton of games installed at once. If this drops close to $100 I probably get it though.

Got the deal for my S, was happy to get it cheaper than the one I got for my X. This after I got the S from Target with the extra controller for $226.

Can someone that knows more than my pittance about this comment on the following:

I bought an S for my son last Christmas, knowing the limitations (All Acces, no less, which was just a HUGE mistake, in terms of value, gah). I think his biggest complaint is the lack of space. Earlier in the year, I was planning to buy him some kind of external storage solution, for THIS Christmas.

However, now that both my wife and I are finally FT employed at the same time, I am considering if it might be better to just upgrade to the X and skip the storage upgrade. He seems fine with the resolution, and based on his setup, I don't think the other advantages of the X would be noticeable.

Anyone care to steer me in the right direction here? Upgrade S storage (not necessarily this expensive, maybe the $100 solution), or just sell S (for how much? Where?) and upgrade to the X?

THANKS

Sell the S and buy the X. Reason being...developers are starting to complain to MS about how they have to make their games playable on the S. Apparently, it is really a struggle to get some games running at a decent frame rate on it. There are articles to read about the recent Gotham game being 30fps because of the Series S. If Microsoft gives in, then some game may not come to the S in the future. And I've seen ads for the Series X for as low as $450. You are paying $150-$200 for this. You could sell the S for probably $200.
