Does anybody here have experience with 4k @ 27" on Windows or Linux? How is the scaling - do you operate at 100% (1:1) or have a boost on? If a scaling boost, how well do most apps scale?
I got the Acer XV282K about a month ago at $380 from Microcenter, but the post needed some more traction /:

Most people operate at 125% or 150% (if your eyes aren't great) scaling. If have decent eyes or good eye correction, can deal with really small text and your monitor is about an arm length away, it's possible to operate at full resolution and 100%, albeit it takes some getting used to (this is what I do). But the extra screen real estate is really nice when operating at 100%. Note that if you screen share, unless someone else has a 4K monitor you'll likely have to change your scaling to 150%, otherwise people won't be able clearly see your screen share, then when you're done screen sharing, change your scaling back to 100 or 125%.
Dead link btw

bought u2720 from bestbuy . beautiful on windows. 150% 4k 60hz. cost me 400$ used.
After adjusting to the change in pixel real estate, the monitors have been a significant improvement in clarity in daily work (emails, Excel, some SQL and API building). I scale them at 125%, and don't hear any issues from others during screen share.
Will be switching from HDMI to DP tomorrow to see if I can weed out some random flicker issues, but might be the HDMI cables I'm using.
Overall, 4k upgrade well worth the price tag.
