I have 3 of these connected to a MBPro with the M1 Max processor. 2 are connected through a CalDigit TS3 Plus, and one is connected directly. I have occasional flickering issues with the one directly connected, and nothing I can do makes it stop. It just stops flickering after some time, but I don't know what causes it to stop. The Dell documentation says it's due to the 40-60Hz VRR setting on Mac and that changing it to 60Hz will fix it, but this is not true. The problem will even persist for some time after disconnecting the monitor. They have replaced it once but the new one is doing the same. I just deal with it for now, but I wouldn't recommend this for M1 Mac users. Not sure if the dock helps, but I haven't had issues with the 2 connected through the dock.
On the hunt for a monitor but I don't plan on going back to 60hz.
Not necessarily. I notice a smoothness with 170hz when with web browsing or general desktop usage that's a lot more satisfying.

You only need more the 60hz for gaming. This is more for graphic work.

That is such an insanely subjective thing to say.

Respectfully, I couldn't disagree more. My iPhone 13 pro has 120Hz and I never game on it, I love the smoothness. Same with iPad and on my MacBook Pro I do not game either and appreciate the high refresh rate every day of the week (:

That being said if it doesn't bother you much, or isn't noticeable then it doesn't hurt to save money and get 60HZ. Especially since any 120Hz+ 4K monitor will command a price almost twice of this one currently.

I think 90hz is where the smoothness really begin to shine? I can't remember exactly which hz but but apparently we don't need need the full 144hz

Possibly, I've never used 90 before as it's been 60-75hz most of the time then recently got a 170hz. There's a chart I've seen with the milliseconds I think 60hz was like 16ms vs 144hz 7ms. Then you hit diminishing returns going from 144 > 240hz. But for sure I don't plan on going below 144. CS 2 right around the corner yall lol

I purchased this 2 years ago for $340. Still works great for me, I'm happy with my purchase. The quality of the stand is great, the built-in speakers are not. Would be very reasonable to upgrade to 32" instead of 4K at 27", but I enjoy it

Wow, they're expecting that the average obese American child is the size of a mini Godzilla! I don't think me, an adult, can even come close to fitting a whole monitor down my gullet!

Does anyone use it with M1 mac? I see a lot of issues reported online. I was considering getting one but now I can't figure out are the issues with flickering caused by users or by the monitor.

Given the differences in dock behavior, why not try adding a USBC to HDMI cable to your Mac to see if that fixes things?

Or try a cheap Amazon "dock" to see if that fixes things?

Or try dropping HDMI, flipping to DP, and seeing if that fixes things?

It doesn't happen often enough to warrant spending extra money on it. I just wouldn't make the same purchase again. Also, I am using a USB-C to DP cable already. I don't use HDMI and don't see the need to buy another cable that may not solve my problem.
