It's weird, 30"+ displays are 1400 while 27" are 4K..
I have been looking for 2k 27" IPS ultrasharp matte displays for office work/text can't seem to find them. 32" is nice if it's 4k but hard to find affordable 4K 32" but then again I don't want one that covers my whole desk.

Isn't the text going to be tiny on 27" with 4k or with windows' bad scaling if you change dpi/sizes of text.

Yes I just got this and text tiny if you use 100% scaling but Windows defaults to 150% by default which isn't too bad and make text way bigger.
Anways, if you want sharp text, this is monitor to get since it's top of the list as far as Rtings reviews go: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/te...xt-clarity
Only other 4K display I use are TV's and they suffer from weird color fringing, shadows, etc.. that this does not! totally worth it if you going to be using mostly office work/text stuff.

High PPI helps increase text sharpness (after DPI scaling) and helps with eye strain. It matters most to people who stare at text all day such as software developers where scaling issues aren't a problem since you're just using software that displays a wall of text. I assume these folks have multi monitor setups where there may be another lower res monitor for apps that don't do well with DPI scaling.

I'm not a SDE so can't comment on impact but having to stare at a monitor all day already if it does help relieve eye strain I'd imagine I'd spend the money if it helps in situations where I'm staring at text all day.

I've had this monitor for a few years, very much like it. I had the 32" version but the speakers had a coil whine and beeping noise that many others reported on. The 32" version was VA panel and looked much better at night but worse during the day, and had gamma shirt looking at the edges of its curved screen. Since I use the monitor during the day I kept this 27" version, do miss the upsides of the curved 32" though

If you don't have a lot of desk depth this stand is better than the LG monitor on sale as you can nest a keyboard over the dell's stand. You can't with the lg

Thanks for the link, will be very handy. I really like Dell's UltraSharp IPS monitors, have one in office and has been going strong 10+ years without a single issues 8+ hrs per day usage.
