my personal advice is save the money for a much more meaningful upgrade down the road.

6950xt has better rasterized performance while 3080 will do better in RT and also support DLSS. so you're essentially trading off features/performance, so not a meaningful upgrade.

and you already have a 3080 - don't reward these companies by keep buying their cards, especially when you don't need em.

unless you can sell your 3080 for more than the cost of 6950xt and make some money, i'd say it's not worth the hassle.

So happy I waited it out b/c I was disappointed I missed out when NewEgg was selling the card $600, but out of nowhere Amazon is selling it today for $567. Best price I've seen for this card hands down, and this is cheaper than what I bought my 6800 XT for last year 🙄😒🤦🏽 ♂🤷🏽 ♂... Not only do I not anticipate this card getting discounted any lower in price, but I highly doubt it would be feasible for it to happen b/c these will probably get sold out so I pulled the trigger IMMEDIATELY!!! 😅😆😂 And adding the RE4 Remake to the mix is not a bad touch might I add 😁.

Why not return the 7900?

The 7900 XTX still has a 36% uplift over the 6950 XT [techpowerup.com] and I got the Sapphire Pulse version of the 7900 XTX which has a better cooling solution than the XFX cards with less coil whine, also I paid $889.99 + tax for it which isnt too bad when you consider that the MSRP is $1k... I know its still a $323 price difference from the XFX 6950 XT which is nothing to sneeze at but I already received the Sapphire card today from Amazon and the promo code for Resident Evil 4 in my inbox. The XFX 6950 XT is also longer at 340mm vs the Sapphire Pulse 7900 XTX at 313mm ... im going to try to fit it inside an ATX Mid Tower (Corsair 5000D Airflow) so shorter = better since im not using a full tower.

At least its slightly more future proof LMAO 36% more performance for $323 more might seem steep but I can rest easier knowing that the pc I built has all the latest gen stuff on it instead of previous gen stuff mixed with current gen stuff.

Is this an upgrade from a 6600gt? It's an AGP card but it was rock solid for Doom 3.
I know this is a joke... but when Doom 3 came out I bought a MSI 6600GT AGP just to run it since I couldn't afford a 6800. Thanks for the nostalgia LMAO

Told myself the same thing when I got it from Newegg for $600 on Monday. Turned out Amazon has plenty in stock, even at $567. HOLD YOUR LIME PEOPLE! LMAO
They don't, look at the shipping dates. Possibly AMD struck a deal like "no one's buying them! Can you help lord besos!!"

This deal was posted 12 hours ago and Amazon still have them in stock. Doubt anyone care about a week delay in shipping time. This is a killer deal vs Newegg's Monday shell shocker deal at $600.

On the fence about buying this, but I'd have to build a new PC around it. Anyone have any advice on a CPU and mobo that would pair well with this?
I went budget friendly on my 1st ever pc build using this card. Did a bunch of research and ultimately got the 5600x and a asus b550 Wi-Fi mobo. Everything paired together great, awesome gaming performance.

Agree is a good deal but it's not in stock. Y do you think the shipping date is so far out? If you're a regular amazon shopper you'll not that's not a normal ship date

How quiet is this card? I'd like a GPU I can not hear much.

Thought $600 was a great deal from Newegg, only bought it few days ago. FML! Frown
Theres always another deal, man. It's at least a consumer friendly market with some discounts instead of mark ups. Good bye 2020-2022, May gpu prices never be higher

This questions is virtually impossible to answer. If your case is open-air, then the fans may not spin much and it's whisper-quiet. If your case is a metal box without air-flow, the fans might spin at max rpm and sound like a Dyson vacuum. Cards with a 3-fan configuration from this gen weren't loud cards, but again, put this in a junk case and you undermine the thermal design and get a ton of noise.

Does it make sense to get this with I5 12400? or stick with 6800XT / 6700XT?
I also have a 2k screen and 750W PSU

My advice, get the microcenter deal and call it a day. I think this gen of Cpu/mobo combos are all pretty solid. 7700 is great. Cheers, happy building

if you have a 6800xt i'd just stick with it, not enough of a performance increase unless you sell your old card to negate some costs
