Edit: Since I'm getting criticism for "misinformation" I should add that since the problem was discovered in Jan/Feb 2023, it's likely Samsung has already loaded its new stock with the latest firmware that shouldn't require updating, but it doesn't hurt to check to see if you might need a firmware update, especially if you happen to receive older stock. The manufacture date should be listed on the box (see below) but regardless of the manufacture date it's best to be proactive and check your firmware. It just takes a minute or two.
2) For cloning, I highly recommend Macrium Reflect. It's free and can clone your current 512gb drive to your new 2tb drive (use a USB enclosure like this one [amazon.com]) even though the sizes are different. It makes the upgrade/transition seamless and painless. Just clone your drive and pop the new drive in. No need to reinstall Windows and start over from scratch. And with the enclosure you can still make use of your old drive as an external drive.

EDIT: I was on the one w/heatsink. Was able to get this fro the listed price in OP. The difference is you have to select the "1TB" model from teh search list, then change it to 2TB. You can't search "980 pro 2tb" since that only pulls up the result for the model with heatsink
