There are alternatives that are actually superior to Shield in almost every way now. For example, the Homatics Box R 4k Plus / Dune HD / Nokia 8010 / RockTek G2 devices.

If anyone has a better recommendation to direct steam PLEX to my TV for cheap and not taking up too much space in the cabinet below my TV, I'm all ears. But for now, I'm a fan and have had good success.
Worth noting: HULU app has been frustrating on this, but I'm able to stream/cast from my phone to Shield easily without issues.
The upscaling didn't look any better with Shield so returned it.
Don't understand it's use if you have a NAS. And or $200, just get a NAS isntead.

There are aftermarket remotes but I'm not sure which of them are good.

There's a ton of people out there having the same thing and it never gets fixed.

People post "solutions" that work for like 3 people and dont do anything for most people. I'm thinking its probably just random and it will recur eventually anyway.
Its the weirdest thing that Nvidia and Hulu can't get their shit fixed. I like my Shield way more than any of the other boxes I've had, but the Hulu thing kills it because I have so many people in my house that watch Hulu more than anything else.
