Haven't been able to find a decent deal on a medium casting rod for lighter lures as most are MH. Got a reel a while back to "convert" to finesse but never got around to it because of that so I keep using a spinning set up for that.
The Right/Left handle option is a spinning reel.
And if anyone is wondering, the baitcast reel is a silver max rebranded w Jordan Lee's name on it.
It was a one piece and came in one of the biggest box I've ever seen
Good rod and reel, wouldn't pay $100 for it but it's def worth $50 for beginners or someone who doesn't demand the best
also, it's on the heavy side (weight-wise). the reel is really solid but heavy.

I personally dislike the newer split handles. Nothing at all wrong with them. They're just not for me.

Some people do large 6000 series spinning reels. But the Penn 209 I used is literally my grandfathers he used in the 50s. Its pretty much the gold standard and what you will find on any fishing boat.
