Razer has been known to auto install fishy stuff without permission, let alone this no name brand
Keychron is a legit brand with good products for entry to mid level mechanical keyboards.
Keychron uses open source VIA to control custom features i.e. macros and rgb
Sometimes you get better deals through AliExpress.
Google search can save some of y'all from internet shaming.
I don't think the K series work with VIA, unless they added that recently?
Searching this brand on SD has < 10 results and half being from just last week
I want the aluminum but no back light. That's important for late night gaming.
Edit: grabbed the blue for $48. They're hot swappable so I'll get some brown holy panda equivalents off aliexpress for around $8 then I'll have a mix of both.
There's also non-hotswap k8 aluminum in all 3 types of switch for $40.
Tempted to get the aluminum brown no back light for my wife.
I have Gateron Baby Kangaroos coming tomorrow (finally) straight from Gateron. I get nervous to get switches off of aliexpress or Temu for quality/knockoff concerns. Affordability is way better though!

Just because it's not sold in stores doesn't mean its a noname. It's actually very popular.

You are absolutely insufferable
It is too high enough to give your wrists a lot of pain. GET A WRIST PAD. Also, the battery power is not the great, for long term use on bluetooth.
I saw reddit discussion about how you *could* force via to recognize K8 as another keyboard. Don't remember if flashing firmware is required. Certainly might lose some functionality to gain some other. K pro series does officially support VIA tho.
I'd think at year 2023 you can find other products perform better at this price point. Keychron's value proposition has been challenged by many new players. Indulge yourself into yt keyboard reviews and you should be able to find some good ones at this price point.

Very good point about keyboard height. All the "good" mechanical keyboards I've seen on yt all come in really tall. Guess it's a given with materials and gaskets, layers of sound deadening material construction, etc. Certainly would love to see a mechanical keyboard with more friendly overall height and similar cushion construction like gasket...

At $100 sure but hard to find hot swappable with keys and switches at $50. Only really using low profiles for travel (keycaps does pop out in the backpack) or a media PC, this one would go to my old computers just as a wireless board
Ya at $50 it's really hard to find a better deal. Also justify the downside I guess. The money saved can be spent towards a keyboard travel case if that helps your use case...
