The point was you could get a "better" drive without shucking for the same price and longer warranty. If the end goal is to have a bare drive, skip the shuck and look at this bare drive as an alternative

That link works fine for me, but it's a random 3rd party seller so you may have a hard time using the "5 year warranty" on what may be a grey market drive.
If buying in bulk maybe you don't care about warranty terms but I'd imagine those people are also buying recertified drives to save more money.

Agreed - this originally stumped me (like "WTH...") when I tried to install the shucked drive into the Fractal Node 304 housing my (at the time) Windows 10 Server. I was going "WTH don't the holes match?!?"

I had to search first online to get the story on why the hole patterns changed, and that led me on to Fractal's support page. Lo and behold - they had "updated" drive cages that allowed for the repositioned holes.

i use box cutter to remove the middle stick out from caddy, my drill press is also ready but dont bother it
