Sure.

1. For just a few dollars more, you're getting an overall better screen in terms of refresh rate, color gamut, and resolution. Yes, the brightness is a bit low as compared to LOQ, but 300-nits isn't bad and overall this has a better display.
2. The processor on this one is more powerful and efficient. Better thermals and battery times as well.
3. Battery is much bigger on this one so noticeably better run times.
4. This is noticeably lighter in weight.
5. Most importantly, since these are gaming laptops, the GPUs are same wattage on both but it's much more powerful on this one.

6. LOQ has an FHD webcam vs HD on this one.
7. LOQ has thunderbolt 4, this neither has thunderbolt 4 nor USB4.

So yes, overall I'd say this is a better package unless any of the above are deal breakers for you.

Anyone know how much worse a "satisfactory" condition open would be ?

Why would it be trashed?

Hasn't shown available for me in the last 2 hours, probably a regional thing (I'm in central NC). I ended up buying the HP OMEN (also posted by the good doctor) for $531. On paper I think the ASUS TUF A16 is probably a better deal though. Honestly I was leaning more towards the Intel / Nvidia anyway just because AMD nomenclature confuses me Wink

I think both are very similar and it really comes down to personal preference. You can't really go wrong tbh

Omen pro:
Slightly better GPU (~10% better)
slightly cheaper

Asus pro:
slightly better screen
better CPU (~ 30% higher passmark)
lighter (4.85 vs 5.4 lb)
larger battery (90WHrs vs 70)

both are great but I bought the Asus one. laugh out loud

Tuf lineup has come a long way. In 2020-21, they were cheap-feeling and skimped big time on the screen, even though they had a fair amount of power for the price. In 2022, they got a metal lid and a somewhat better screen (I owned the A15). And now for 2023 they finally got that coveted 16:10 aspect ratio. As long as you realize that it's not a thin-&-light, and that 1200p at 16" is not very pixel-rich, this is a fantastic deal.
The entire Tuf line (in everything, not just laptops)changes between lower high end and upper budget every release cycle, asus can't decide what they want Tuf to be. Makes it annoying when you buy the high end, get it again the next time around to find its only a budget model that year.

I think it sold out. It's no longer showing up as an option now. It did when I bought one.
