Not sure on your situation but I would suggest the capacitor version over the battery type.
The main problem with most dashcams is that you don't get parked protection unless you buy additional cables and gmhard wire which requires access to fuse panel and to know which fuses are switched which ones are not. Most new car brands may not have switched up fronts so if you wire to constant always on, then you also need low voltage cut off and the list goes on and on.They need to make better packages with these features built in.

Check the manufacturers site too. They had a big black friday sale last year when I bought mine. It was a bit cheaper than amazon, but it took almost a month to get it shipped from China.
At least I figured I had a good chance of getting the latest hardware revision. These get quietly "updated" a lot.
Basically you're getting the best sensor for the $ unless you want to spend >$300, and even then you can't read license plates in the dark. So this is the one to get if you're not spending a ridiculous amount for a dashcam.
Its much smaller too.
Eletoponline365 on ebay is the official store.
No GPS.
For card I use samsung Evo 512GB since at Max bitrate the camera writes 70MB/s .
The Samsung pro 512 is ~ $32 now
Battery + hot climate = battery swelling
Viofo uses a capacitor which means no issues with extreme heat climates
I orderd the mini as well. Thanks!

Sd card in, buttons not responsive
Sd card out, now buttons working
- Default settings, no fix
- Will not take firmware update
Not sure I will buy again
Edit:
Omg, it's fixed
Not sure what fixed though
Remove card
Reboot
Set Default settings, it reboots
Issue persist
Played around with settings
- speed unit, mph
- set date time
- beep sound, startup only
- car number, put a character, but set back to blank
No more black x
Restart with sd card, no more black x, buttons working
I have had mine since like 2015 and after 7-8 years was stuck on the splash screen. I hooked it up to my pc and did a factory fw upgrade then bang it's alive again!!
But I've had poor experience with VIOFO's harwire kit. I've gone through two of them, and both of them died within a few months. Multiple reviews give similar stories.
I'm pretty sure they sold their dashcams division and products off to one of these other brands because they don't sell dashcams anymore even on their own site. So unfortunate since they were cheaper and better than the other brands, really demonstrates how much money they're raking in on these too... hopefully VIOFO is good quality, have to buy one because my 4 year old Aukey has a weird focusing issue where it is blurry beyond ten feet, the lens must have shifted or something.
Probably going with VIOFO since the vantrue thread appeared to have a lot of shilling, so it's hard to tell if anything there is real. I bought both to compare though, returns open until Jan 31.
Btw anyone done their own side by side of the STARVIS vs STARVIS 2 sensors? I bought the newer one to try out, but not sure how it will be.

Sounds like with all the issues their cameras have they went out of business

Chill out VIOFO shill, they don't sell anymore. You guys got 'em!
Their cameras had LESS issues than every other brand because they backed their cameras with a real warranty. So no, that's not why.
And this other db who thinks AUKEY "manipulated" reviews - yet you said yourself they OFFERED to give you a discount for a review. Yeah like every company at the time. They didn't offer FREE stuff like many others still do. Asking customers to leave legit reviews is better than the overwhelming fake reviews and now countless fake COMPANIES (which didn't even exist back then). Amazon shut down specifically a small handful of companies that had their prices too low for quality stuff, or maybe they tried to push back on Amazon's cut? Because Amazon left countless companies that BUY fake bot reviews alone. If they actually banned companies for the reasons they claimed the site would have half as many sellers and wouldn't be rampant with untrustworthy products and reviews.
So take that "they solicited reviews" BS and swallow it.
And if you think I promote AUKEY now, I don't, have no idea if they are good anymore because I haven't bought anything there since the dashcams.
