Now the smart people will take the extra $100 or $200 saved by buying this CPU and using that money to get a better GPU which is more important to gaming.
If you want to laugh, look at the scores in head to head gaming with the 5600 vs the 5700 or 5800 and smile when the FPS is less than 5% different.
As far as DDR4 vs DDR5. That is another win for saving some money. For gaming, that DDR5 will get you maybe another 5% fps but cost you almost double what DDR4 costs.
So save $100 on your ram and $100 or $200 on this chip and take that $200 or $300 and get a better GPU. Sure that $200 or $300 will get you an extra 10 percent in FPS but does it really matter if you get "only" 60fps vs 66fps (10% boost) or 120fps vs 132fps?
Now if money is not an issue then get the best of the best of the best but smart gamers know what is important and what is not.

BTW the x version is identical to the non-x (5600 vs 5600x) but it's clocked a bit higher. Something you can do yourself in your MB settings.
I say this as someone with a 5600x, but the 5600 wasnt released until 2 years later.
The 13100 can be used with DDR5 and you can upgrade to higher end 13th gen or 14th gen CPUs on the same motherboard.

It loses to the 7600x, 7700x, 7900x, 13600k, 13700k, 13900k, etc, etc.
It's literally slower than like 20 CPUs now in gaming, and a lot slower in Multithread.
If you already have AM4 now this is fine, but I absolutely wouldnt buy a motherboard to go along with this. You'd be better off getting a i3-13100F for $119 or i5-12400 for $139, giving you an upgrade path to far newer and better processors like the i7-14700k.

Only problem is the ram I ordered on Amazon farked me. I bought and paid for 3600mhz so imagine my surprise when I booted up and saw 2400mhz in the bios. Should've bought it on Newegg
