Tip: If you buy from Best Buy- add the plus membership to your order for $50. It'll extend your return period from 15 days to 60 for peace of mind in case the U8K comes back on sale or if you decide you just don't like it. You can cancel the membership within 60 days of purchasing it for a full refund.

They're offering free installation/wall mounting for these. Imagine that is useful w/ a TV this big!

If putting on a stand, you may want to check max weight supported. The 98" is around 125lbs and the 100" is around 138lbs.

On paper, the hisense specs are better. The hisense seems to be closer to the the next 98" TCL tv, the 98R754 which is a more expensive TV.

Hisense has QLED technology and full-array local dimming, TCL does not.

Give your reasonings.

Based on what? You have a 100" Hisense next to it to compare or is this a classic case of I own it so of course its better? lolol Hisense is a better TV in other similar models and yes, I do have both in the house, same trim level, same size.

I am so confused on which one, I have the TCL on order, but now really confused on which one is better?
If you are set on a 100", in this case, the Hisense is a better TV, and 2" bigger to boot... I won't add anymore 2" jokes...

Have you seen the Hisense in person or just making things up?

I'm ignorant on this but also trying to figure out what I should get for a 10 ft distance....100 inch hisense tv or the $1,600 hisense projector around 120 inch screen. My Google searches give a closer reccomended viewing distance efor 4k than HD and that I guess is accurate but I would welcome any opinions.
It's a tradeoff at that distance as either screens would work, although the picture would be much better on the 100" TV screen versus the increase size of the projector.

Hisense has local dimming (250 zones) so in principle Hisense should be better with blooming control. This TCL model does not even have local dimming.

Hollywood has killed theaters, not TV's. They keep producing woke shit movies, so people won't go. It's KILLED Disney.
Haha, movie ticket sales are up year over year as usual and in Texas sichbas Dallas Austin etc high end theaters are being built all the time, but it's a different crowd, $15 craft cocktail crowd, but they are continuisaly packed. Home theater can't repliate full Imax . New screns being added every month in ye Olde Texas

Don't forget the ATSC 3.0 tuner for OTA 4K content and double the warranty. Most likely the 100U76N is brighter although TCL doesn't spec it. I've seen measurement for the 98S550G brightness from 300-600 nits versus the 10076N 800 nits spec.

For anyone wondering about the Hisense;
•FALD - 256 Zones (on 100" screen may not have such significant impact)
•2 Year Manufacturer warranty by default
•Does have Ethernet.
Also only 800 nits
the next model up has 1500 nits
the top end hisense has 3000 nits

800 nits spread across 100 inches, is it bright enough?

there's a reason why this is so cheap

600 seems to work for the TCL. People seem to like it very much.

Alright swapped my TCL order for the Hisense order. Added the 5yr protection plan, extended my delivery date by 4weeks to judge initial reviews. You win this round, BestBuy.
