i disagree with the above posters who think this isn't a good sign up bonus. this comes with a companion pass for a little over 12 months. so it all depends on how you'll use this.
Thirty thousand points for spending $4k is terrible. I got 75k points just two months ago. Anything less than 50k is not worth it and even that is on the low side. Wait if you can.
Edit: The companion pass is worth it if you plan to travel at least twice with a companion. The extra 45k points I got are worth ~$550.
Wish it was two years. This would be less than one year.

Even though this is a Chase issued card, if I got a SUB with a Chase Sapphire last year would I still qualify for this? Trying to understand if the 24 month rule is for Southwest branded cards or Chase issued cards. Thanks
You can still get the SW bonus even if you had a recent Sapphire bonus. Key points of eligibility:
1) You can't have any Southwest personal credit card open right now
2) You haven't received a new cardmember bonus for any Southwest personal credit card in the past 24 months. Note that what matters here is the time you got the sign-up bonus, not the time you open the account or close the account.
3) 5/24 rule applies on any Chase application - you cannot have opened five or more personal credit cards across ALL BANKS in the last 24 months

Can you book a flight immediately once approved? Or do you need to wait for the arrival of the physical card?
you need to wait until you receive the card in the mail to use it, which usually takes about 6-10 days. But you can call Chase immediately after you are approved to expedite delivery of the physical card to get it in 2-3 days.

I just called Chase, they would not budge. Been a priority member for a decade and average around 100k annually on this card. You would have to cancel your membership and wait 24 months to be eligible for similar offers. Disheartening for sure.

The 24 month limit only applies to southwest bonus. If last time you got bonus is before 24 months, you can close the card now and apply after a month, get bonus again. You need to wait for a month to apply for the same card. Given the bonus offer expires on 3/11/24, you might be 10 days late for that.
How soon do you get the companion pass to use once spent is met? Considering it's only good for 12 months, may not be worth it?
The terms stated at the bottom that the CP would hit your account within 8 to 12 weeks of you achieving the $4,000 threshold on a bill that has been paid.
Any idea if you can retroactively use the CP for a trip that's already booked? I've cancelled/rebooked before to save points, but I have a trip in June that has gone from 15k points per person to 35k each. I'm guessing they won't
Does anyone know if they have this offer often? I would get this card with the companion perk and then close it next year and then my wife could get it the year after and have me as the companion. Rinse and repeat

How is it over 12 months? It will take at least a month to close one statement and wait for CP to kick in after. Even if you spend 4k on day 1.

You can cancel 1 ticket (companion's) and get that back as credit. And then book a new ticket for companion when you earn the status. You have to make 2 separate bookings anyway for CP.
So I applied and was approved for the Premier Card literally a day before this promo hit. My bonus instead was 50k points after spend $1000 in 3 months plus first years $99 Annual Fee is waived. Should I be mad that this offer is better? Just chiming in
If I currently have a swa card that I got a companion pass with years ago with the sign up bonus, can I cancel my card and then reapply and qualify again?
Is there a "waiting period" that I have to do before reapplying? Thanks!
So I get approved, and assuming I can spend 4k in my first billing cycle, "Please allow up to 8 weeks for Companion Pass to post to your Rapid Rewards® account." - so you're looking at 3months potentially to get the CP. and then it's only good until end if Feb. Basically 9 months of CP. Doesn't seem *that* great of a deal unless you plan to travel a lot during those 9mos.
Sounds like they hard capping this til Feb 2025 whereas the previous offer, you get the remaining if the achieved year and the year after.
Terms state that you can still earn the regular companion pass and it will supercede the promotional one if you do:
"If you otherwise qualify for regular Companion Pass valid in 2024, the regular Companion Pass qualifications will supersede the promotional Companion Pass. Visit Opens OverlaySouthwest.com® to review the full Companion Pass program rules and regulations. All Rapid Rewards rules and regulations apply and can be found at Opens OverlaySouthwest.com/rrterms."

Apparently yes it is, sorry I was just replying to the guy asking 120k points or 120k dollars spend to clarify it's points not spend.
