[Some of the Gram 17 models have both memory chips soldered in (I know because I bought one and returned that same day when I went to upgrade one memory slot), others have one memory chip soldered in and one free for expansion (these are fine). If this model has both soldered in then I would pass it up as it only has 16GB, if it allows one replacement then you can buy a 32 and top out at 40 which is fine if not great.
Other than that, they are nine, super light and have light power supplies. They are a little fragile for traveling but if your laptop stays stationary like mine does, that doesn't really matter. I wouldn't buy it if you plan on traveling with it a lot as the body is not strong per other's reviews.
Also not that these are 2023 model and not 2024 faster models so Costco is helping LG liquidate stock. The price is not horrible and it is Costco, so that's a plus.

Also one more flaw is the location of touchpad. Seriously unusable for general users who depend on it. You need to move your hand quite a bit to reach it

I see no issue whatsoever traveling with it. I have with a model several years old. It is not fragile. Thats the idea, to be able to take a 17 inch screen with you and it only weights 3.2 lbs. To me traveling the world it means that I put this in my laptop/briefcase. I have never in my life had any damage to any laptop i have every taken. I see no fragile issue with the outer shell of this laptop either. It is not more fragile than any other laptop regardless of the weight of the outer shell. I have no idea what others have done, but they must be really rough with their stuff if they see this as fragile.

I watched YouTube. a lot of complaints regarding their customer services and they overcharge if you need to fix your laptop. someone needs to get USB port fixed and got charged 500 bucks. I am wondering if that is true.

Sounds like bs! No major manufacturer is selling laptops with usb issues and not giving warranties!

Costco gives 2 year warranty for free, additional $99 for 3 years in parallel which includes accidental drop or spill.

For any laptop that charges via usb, I get item below so that usb is not fatigue from connection and disconnecting. Don't have usb problem on lg laptop for 5+ years, touch wood.

There is a 32GB/2TB touchscreen version on sale at Costco right now for $1299. Contemplating that one over this one.
