I just upgraded my TV to a Oled G3. I was running a Denon Atrx-3400h but since it doesnt have HDMI 2.1 (4k/120) - I have my Series X and PS5 straight to the TV and eArc back down to the receiver. Seems to work OK as of right now. My speakers are Klipsch RP-160m fronts, RP-440c center, RP-240s surrounds, SVS SB-3000 sub. I cant run anymore than a 5.1 setup in my room.

Would this be a worthwhile upgrade? Or maybe the Onkyo NR7100? Or am I fine sticking with the 3400H.

Just got the deal! Thanks…I was gonna get a Yamaha v4 but believe spending a few hundred for this is well worth it. First time setting up a home theater with Klipsch 600m and center Chanel 504 and a uturn recorder player. Any suggestions for rear speakers etc? Thanks

Other than 2.1 what other improvements would be a benefit over the 3400 worth $515?

How about another pair of 600m's, they're on sale for $279/pair.

that would be the big thing. if passing the audio through the tv back down to the receiver is worse for audio, then maybe upgrading is worthwhile.

If you have no brand preference, need the features this offers and not missing any.
This is a pretty good price.

Well, you have to keep in mind sound is subjective.
If you're unhappy this will do what you're looking for, up to you if it's worth the cost.

Thank you for the suggestion. I'm hoping to get something smaller that might be a little too big for my space but I'm pretty sure it will sound great

It hasn't gotten down this low($800) but you do get a few more features this doesn't offer.

You also may not need Dirac, Audyssey is very comparable to Dirac Live especially when using the Editor App.
There is a reason why they are often compared to each other.

You also have the option of just getting MultiEQ-X, it gives all the capabilities of Dirac for $199($150 on sale).

Where have you seen the Denon X3800 for $519?

Lowest I have seen the Denon X3800 is a few hundred more than that ..once you add the paid license and required mic you are more than 2X this deal

In my personal ownership over many years of Audyssey Xt32 equipped products and a couple that I own now with Dirac...there is no comparison that Dirac is the better of the two
You're both right, I got my models mixed up, and I went ahead and ordered this to use with my QD OLED since I have terrible room acoustics and am tired of not having HDMI 2.1 on my Onkyo 656.
