Was looking for a new hammer and pry bar and found these combo. Pry bar alone is $17 if bought separately.

If I wanted Harbor Freight.. I would go to Harbor Freight. Something's they are ok at.. Others not so much.
as someone who has both for my remodel
the Milwaukee one is noticeably better. worth the $10 if you're gonna use it a lot

the HF one is too flat on the flat side
As someone who has a cheap rusted out hammer, I'll trust a quality brand over cheap junk.

HF has a pittsburg wood handle framing like this w/ magnetic nail grabber, under 10 I think. I sanded off the gloss and put a few coats of wood/oil finish over the course of a few days. the feel is certainly better than my metal frame, that HF hammer is pretty cheap for the features I'd say

I have to think, a milled face hammer will take bigger/larger head nails fine and likely grip the head better, slightly less likely to slide off the nail on a slight mishit I'm sure

I bought this on clearance for $23 at my local Home Depot, but that was in May '23. They are nice, I love the rubber on the prybar to reduce vibration.

Anyone that comes to these threads to brag about the HF equivalent for cheaper is a clown.

Don't buy metal hammers they can give you nerve damage, buy wood the wooden handle absorbs some of the shock unlike metal.

I own the hammer at least and I can say it's pretty nice to use for work. I lucked out when it was at the store for $20 and I got the leftover christmas husky 16 oz. Smooth face plus 15 in crowbar combo for $8 around the same time.

Sir, the men are talking about 22 and 16oz hammers. Any woman who says she prefers https://www.homedepot.com/s/Stubby%20hammer is lying. Size does matter.

Is 15" Pry Bar too short? Never used one. Thanks.

I know it's in the title, but please note, this is a milled face, mostly only suited to framing.
What is a milled face and what exactly is 'framing'? Serious question not trying to be annoying.

I just installed flooring in a bedroom and I'd say I did a pretty good job as a DIYer. But now I'm having the hardest time installing the quarter round. This is suppose to be the easy part but I keep bending nails!

The range of use by people varies greatly. If you use it daily, spend the money. If you use it once in a while, and will likely misplace it, just get the HF one. I have more hammers than I need. Mostly from estate sales even after I bought the HF one with fiberglass handle. They all work about the same, and none have failed.

Side note one of the very old ones had the wood handle break so I made a new handle for it by buying like $50 worth of tools to make one handle. lol

You don't use a brad nailer for stuff like this?

Milled face means it has a "waffle" surface, small pyramid points instead of a smooth surface. Framing is putting up stud walls and floors, basically the skeleton of a structure rather than trim. You don't want to use a milled face on trim because it leaves an unsightly impression in the wood. No one cares about that in the framing because it is hidden behind wallboard.

This is the way.

There are PLENTY of ways you can screw up prybars & hammers. Design, ergonomics, materials, quality (e.g. tempering as another poster mentioned), etc.

Yep.. milled face framing hammers are not really appropriate for your average Slickdealer who will likely just use this for DIY around the house.

Bahahaha!
