This is a no-brainer deal for anyone wanting to get an Atmos system. I got this last year and I have never gone above volume 20 in my apartment 🤣...try top gun maverick with it and you'll see that the hype is not exaggerated.

Believe the hype is right..
tech radar - 5/5 stars
AV CLUB - 10/10
rtings - 8.5 voted the best soundbar, best atmos soundbar, best soundbar with subwoofer
I can also comment that with EARC HDMI 2.1 is a non-factor unless your tv is strapped for 2.1 inputs, of which, this soundbar may be out of your price range outside of sale. I have the phenomenal quantum dot oled the s89c and have my PC and PS5 connected to the tv with 144hz and 120hz respectfully set to each with both transferring surround using EARC.
Make sure in this scenario that your soundbar is set to pass-thru through expert settings. You may have to research and fix settings in VLC and MPlayer classic to utilize atmos capabilities for non-bluray video.

Now you want an eye-opening experience? using the smart things app, set bass enhancement to on, set audio to surround or adaptive, volume to 25, position yourself well and centered between the 3 speakers, now make sure you get the Atmos video version of Ready Player One, make sure the soundbar says DOLBY ATMOS when you hit the Info key ( i ) on your remote, and wait or skip to the start of the first race for the first key.. come back and let me know what you found out Wink
Please help me understand this. I have an LG C1 TV with an hdmi 2.1 port. If I want use my Xbox at 120Hz, will earc make that work on this Q990C or do I need a Q990D with the 2.1 support? I just bought 5he Q990D thinking it would be required. Thank you.

It does not. Q symphony is proprietary to Samsung only, and only tvs on and after 2021 if I am not mistaken, would have to look at each model, I don't believe low end samsung offerings would be applicable. However, with that said, while it enhances the audio some by utilizing the tv speakers in conjunction with the sound bar, it should in no-way, shape, or form, impact your decision as to purchasing this, especially at this price. Nothing other than JBL and the Nakamichi DRAGON 11.4.6 @ $3900 competes. I have not heard the Nakamichi so I cannot attest to it's quality but at that point I cannot personally fathom not piecing and building a true surround set, albeit the wireless capabilities advantages.

I still pulled the trigger anyway.... my 85" QN90B has been waiting to be paired up with something reasonable. Based on what I've read (not officially heard in person) - these are quite worth the money at this particular price point. Also excited to see how well Q-Symphony works.
Don't have Samsung TV anymore, but was truly impressed with Q symphony pairing qn95b/990b. It's not gimmicky. Add just a tad of height to front which I enjoyed. Unfortunately don't have it with my Sony TV.

I have the same tv in a separate room and before I purchased the s89c, I used this system to play my PS5 @ 120hz and PC @ 120 hz to the c1 and 144hz to the s89c with no issues with each device connected to the C1 and the soundbar connected through the EARC port. Just ensure to use certified highspeed cables if you don't want to run into issues. Also, since the q990c is not rated for 2.1, you should be able to get away using a 2.0 cable, but if you have any issues such as dropouts or the like, switch to a 2.1 cable and try it anyways. Remember though, although the XBox X/S supports ATMOS where available, the ps5 does not, only atmos supported blurays through bitstreaming can send atmos signal to earc. In case you want to buy one at any point in the future.

Agreed, before I bought my 800c and 900c yesterday I went looking at previous deals. The absolute cheapest post I found was 800b etc for 350 in March 2023 being clearances out. The 800c is 357 also in March but 2024. March 2025 may likely be 800d and such

So if history repeats, this is last mark down before gone. Probsbly why only shows up for epp edu and work, instead of the epp military. Etc. not a lot of stock remains
It ain't going lower, guaranteed.

Mine shipped tonight with an anticipated delivery date of Monday 3/25. Can't wait!
When you placed your order, what was the shipping date estimate provided? i.e. was the original estimate different from 03/25?

The bar only receives audio signal from the tv and has nothing to do with the video. If you only care about 4k@120 and don't care about DTS or PCM audio, the 990c is what you need.

Very helpful, thank you! The new Q990D has a nice new feature called Private Listening which can send sound to rears only for lower volume listening at night. Does Samsung usually enable these features via software updates for older models like the Q990C?

I don't believe they will, however, using the smart things app, the Q990C has night mode, which will severely impede bass output. Outside of volume controls, you can also set channel volumes independently in standard mode or just treble and bass in surround, adaptive and gaming modes.

Have this and it sounds good but the wifi always disconnects within a day and I have to reset the whole thing up again.

And I tried updating the firmware to the latest.
