The keys are no longer proprietary with their latest refresh, it comes with 2 standard keys now that you can make copies of. I ordered from Amazon yesterday and just installed it this evening.
Ehh I like the products but they don't support WPA3 and the tried gaslighting everyone here the exploits found. I wouldn't trust them for a lock.
The one linked in the OP has Wifi built-in and doesn't require the additional separate bridge

It will be easier to break the windows or glass door in the backyard than trying to hack the wifi smart lock

I think the theory is someone walks up with a laptop that allows them to discretely enter a home without looking like they are burglarizing it so no one questions their motives until it's too late

Here's my review on the lock....

I've had this lock for a little over three years. It has problems! First, as shown in the picture, the glass is delaminating. This started at about the 1 year mark. It doesn't affect the the functionality of if, but it looks like crap.

Many bugs to report....
1. About 15% of the time, when leaving the house, I'll unlock the door, step outside and close it, place my finger on the sensor, and the door tries to unlock itself (it's already unlocked). I then have to retouch the sensor to lock it.

2. It hates one of my sons. It recognizes his fingerprint, but loudly states "The door failed to lock, please try again." This is when the door is locked and he's trying to get in. This randomly happens with others, but it's about 50% of the time with him vs. 5% with others.

3. I have an Alexa routine that includes locking the door when I say goodnight. About 20% of the time, if the door is already locked it gives the "Door failed to lock message" and sends a notification to everyone that has the app installed. If I'm not already sure the door was locked, I have to go and check that it is.

4. Alexa will lock the door, but after about 30 secs she says "Sorry, front door isn't responding".

5. Mine is the same model number, but this says it's a newer version. My older version also has a 10,000 mAh battery, but the charge only lasts about 3 months

The fingerprint sensor works very well. I've had little issue with it unless my finger is wet. The app works great and has a lot of functionality to it.

I've been looking everywhere to determine which key type they now use. Even Eufy couldn't tell me. Do you know if it's schlage or kwikset style?

Does this connect to the homebase or is it just separate? I do t see a key hole on it either. What do you do if the battery dies?
Key is always the weakness, prefer if it had no key

After looking up picture examples of how each looks, these Eufy ones are definitely Schlage style

I'm confused, the S231 looks like it's only $109 for silver and is newer. Am I missing something?

Can this be used on a door with no deadbolt?

No, it's a deadbolt lock.

I have c220. Really helpful for all family members. Kids coming from school, cycling, dog walk etc. access is well controllled with the thumb scan.. life saver..battery life is good so far.. c220 do not have lithium batteries..as someone mentioned c220 is also good for $99
S230; I ended up returning mine from amazon for $130 and picked it up from Micro center near me here in Duluth, GA for $69 + tax = $74 total out the door ...

$56 dollar saving so can't complain for the S230 Keyless fingerprint lock

If someone is securing their home they dont just rely on a deadbolt, smart or not. I have a eufy deadbolt for ease of use, but I also have sensors on all the doors and windows. If someone hacks my eufy deadbolt and gets in an alarm is still going to go off.

I'm going to blame management/PMs for that fiasco of security. It's been fixed and highly publicized. You can bet they won't make that mistake again knowingly and I will take the gamble security is a higher priority now.

I don't put cameras in my house anyway. Trust no one. Put your phone on a stand up charger and face front camera towards a wall at night if you have to.

This thing can be hacked with a paper bag lol. They even put the logo for convince. How nice of them. Don't even need to touch to lock to hack it. Can park across the street and take this thing out in 5 minutes, tops.

I can smash a none smart dead bolt open with a sledge hammer. What's your point? As I mentioned before if you are concerned about break ins you dont stop at installing a deadbolt.
