Interesting. I have mine mounted outside in front of driveway (in a regular patio light enclosure that's not really covered due to the size of this sticking out). It's been a few months with snow/rain that it hasn't had any issue. The IP rating on these are not very good (from the company claim) so they aren't meant to be in an area that can get moisture. YMMV if you go against the instructions.

I took it apart and saw bulging capacitors too. At the end of the day, I didn't want to fix it and threw it in the trash.
