Costco has the popular Apple HomePod 2nd Gen for $199.99, the lowest price new ever. This is an exceptional speaker, and if you combine 2 of them you can use as an Atmos system with your Apple TV. Which I personally use and can confirm its better than pretty much all soundbar setups under $1K.

In Store @ $199.99
This particular pic is from Carlsbad Costco, where they had at least 30 in stock from my visual.

Most likely your issue.

I don't think most people have problems playing one song. Sonos subs are filled with these comments and turns out to be network related. It's not only about the router there can also be interference in your building or other reasons.

Trust me if people could not play one song on these speakers they wouldn't sell and everyone would bash them
These work fantastic with Apple TV. Much better than my Sonos Ones. They are a no brainer if you are in the Apple ecosystem. Nice find!
Costco rep told me they're phasing these out. None left in WA State (Seattle etc).

Siri is terrible. Just awful outside of the most basic commands. I say this as someone who is fully Apple everything. Rumors are they will release a major overhaul next year but time will tell.

If use two instead of a soundbar, it'd only work when using Apple TV right? i.e., I wouldn't be able to use the HomePods as speaker when watching regular TV or playing Xbox?

But apples whole HomeKit AirPlay ecosystem is beyond trash. It's gotten worse rather than better. It's frankly insane given their position and wealthy

I've had two sets of stereo HomePods and for the last year, despite different WiFi access points and routers, I can't get through a single song without them cutting out. A single HomePod usually works fine.

I finally disconnected them and switched to Klipsch Fives in my office and Nines in the living room. These can be had for $450 (Fives) and $1k (Nines) if you shop around - that's the pair, not each

I used to dream of filling my homes with $199 HomePods and now that it's here.... it's a huge no thanks

You do you tho

I wanted to like the HomeKit also but early adoption was extremely difficult with limited products. I went with SmartThings and Alexa but wish Apple would open up their comparability beyond HomeKit.

How do the speakers compare to their Amazon Echo equivalents?

If your TV support eARC, and you route the Apple TV through that HDMI port with eARC it would work for all.

I once said I was waiting for this at $150. I was laughed at. $50 more to go

I got 4 of these at Sam's club when they were clearancing them out for $80 each. They are really nice and sound incredible. Making phone calls with it is pretty impressive

You do you tho

It's your network. Let me guess you have multiple different brand routers and access points all with different specs, etc. trying to all work together. If you bought a new wi-Fi 6 or7 three-piece wireless mesh system from TP Link or one of the other good brands I guarantee you you wouldn't have a problem.

Is Instacart a reliable source for inventory tracking on this item? If so, there are none at the three closest warehouses to me (MA).

Exactly!

I've got wirelessly attached Sonos/ikea speakers and a HomePod mini all over my house. I've just never had issues like some people experience.

Two ubiquiti ac-lites wired to the switch (no mesh).

No problems with AirPlay to any of them or multiples of them at the same (all AirPlay 2).
I have modern U6 Pro APs with strong signal (no mesh) and still find it pointless to airplay to more than 1 device. I'm not sure why it works for some and not for others, but I really want that feature to work and have put time into troubleshooting. It's not the network. I have great signal strength around my house and the cement siding keeps the interference out. Unless the radios are absolute garbage in homepod minis, wifi 6 should easily be able to handle lossless audio streams.

Agreed 100%. Siri is one of the worst things Apple has shipped. Hope the overhaul rumors are true, Siri in current form is completely unreliable

Google forces you to share voice data, Apple doesn't force that access bc they prioritize data privacy. Agreed, Siri sucks and always has relative to competition (maybe always will?), but it's for a good reason.
