Realizing this is 14" and some people NEED a 14", if you're flexible and 15.6" is OK, then the Walmart deal for the Vivobook S 15 is still good. Same price ($749) and nearly identical specs, except Vivobook includes a 3K OLED 120Hz screen. I know some people say ZenBook is "better build" but I have the Vivobook and it's sturdy and light and works great. Love the OLED 3K 120Hz screen and great specs for $749.

EDIT: As is noted in another post, the Vivobook is NOT touchscreen.

Not worth the risk and headache.
As someone who works in computer related field, the only laptops I buy are used or refurbished. There really isn't any risk. If anything is wrong with it from running it for the first 10 mins just return it. Otherwise you're still covered under manufacturer warranty. I've purchased several openbox laptops from Bestbuy and never had an issue and save hundreds of $ every time.

Is 16 gb enough if I don't plan to use it for any gaming or should I wait for another laptop with 32 gb

open box is "new", so Asus should honor the full warranty from the date you purchase.

Besides that, you can return to Best Buy, typically within 2 weeks, with or without cause AFAICT. The cashiers are generally happy to have you open and test out open box before you leave the store.
I have bought several open box laptops from Best Buy through the years, and never get a full year's warranty. It starts from when the previous owner activates it, so that is a factor in the price. But I've also only had maybe one which was in disappointing condition where I took it right back. Sometimes you can find really nice machines for less than half of their original value.

Wow that's tempting. Glad I held out last time it came up. Trying to decide if the open box excellent is worth the risk. I haven't had issues with previous Zenbooks in the past, but might get unlucky. 15% discount is quite nice for an open box though…

Anyone have any experiences with recently released zenbooks?
I bought this open box excellent at Best Buy for ~$630 and am very pleased. No real risk as you can easily return if not satisfied!

You think a 10 year old experience is still relevant?
Maybe not, their service has probably gotten worse.

The speakers are much, much better than LG Gram's. Does that help you move over the fence? Smilie

Worse for BB, not me! The last couple Open Box Fair laptops I got my hands on just needed a light wiping down. Boxes were marked "scratched screen" or dent or what-have-you, and after a light cleaning those "scratches and dents" disappeared and it became an Open Box Excellent.

Seems GS is just too lazy to take 5 minutes to clean it, then they could sell it for more. Good for us consumers, though.

You know what's perfect? Something in the $2000 range. $750 I am willing to make some aesthetic compromises when the specs are as great as they are.

It depends on what you're doing and the screen brightness, but for general use this will easily last for all day usage and then into the next. The Core Ultra 155H is very competitive with power efficiency, and the 75WHr battery is above average.
