Realizing this is 14" and some people NEED a 14", if you're flexible and 15.6" is OK, then the Walmart deal for the Vivobook S 15 is still good. Same price ($749) and nearly identical specs, except Vivobook includes a 3K OLED 120Hz screen. I know some people say ZenBook is "better build" but I have the Vivobook and it's sturdy and light and works great. Love the OLED 3K 120Hz screen and great specs for $749.

EDIT: As is noted in another post, the Vivobook is NOT touchscreen.

Just got mine today. Actually really sweet machine. Considering returning it for the $799 ryzen version. I heard this Intel version gets throttled.

I was really expecting the awesome design on the top of the laptop though. This one is just plain with a Asus logo. Is this the '24 version? The ryzen listing shows it with that top design.

That lid design with the lines really looks attractive. Asus model naming is very confusing. So many similar-named models but with different designs (like the premium lid design on the $799 one but not this one).

Not in the slightest. Even the org I work at the minimum spec they will buy for data entry/call center employees is 16GB. One Edge or Chrome browser session plus a lightly debloated Windows 11 session will consume all of it and start hammering Disk I/O with page filing which tanks performance. So much so that opening Excel in addition to the browser is a fool's errand. That is before you even think about opening Teams or Discord. Simply put you must not use your computer at all. 16GB is the bare minimum for rudimentary tasks on Windows. 32GB is nice. Maybe you should use Android if you aren't doing anything.

It is the 2024 version, it says on the BB page.
Got mine too open box from BB. I was also expecting the lid design, looked pretty good, but didn't get it.

How are you making sure the processor/iGPU/RAM work fine? First time buying an open box. Any benchmarks to run or tests?

That's what I meant. Perhaps, you didn't see the 'shaking head' smiley. My experience is similar to yours wrt to high ram usage in windows.

I don't know yet. There were several reviews that mentioned it gets hot when using while charging, but that wasn't a deal breaker for any of the reviewers, apparently.
I too felt the same. The openbox (fair condition - $590) that I got looks brand new, but no power cord.
Thought it was because of the different power cord (USB C) I used.

Fair enough friend. I can't see the emoji on mobile. It is frankly disgusting manufacturers are sending out eWaste like this when increasing cost per unit 5-10 bucks to make it a reasonable amount of memory would turn it into a serious contender and provide 5+ years of life to an owner.

I am using a win 11 laptop with 8gb of ram and I have no such problems. I can literally open as many chrome windows as I want, use excel, etc etc and I have had no problems.
