I have this. Been fairly reliable for the past couple years. No backlight failing or dead pixels. Google TV still runs smoothly. Speakers are kinda mid but clear and usable. Picture is great, brighter than I need. I think it's a good idea to get a brighter TV than you need then turn it down in settings to ensure the backlight doesn't fail.

Replacing a 2019 4 series with this. After CB and selling the old TV it's a very cheap upgrade for the bedroom.

This lineup took a huge beating due to software issues at launch. Hard to believe they overproduced so many but something funny could have happened during the chip shortages, who knows.

I bought this from besbuy for the same price in November. I would recommend. Also have a qm8 in the living room. Have enjoyed both. I have noticed an issue with the r646 where the picture dims and I have to hard reboot to fix. Not sure what's causing that. I also recommend installing projectivy launcher and disabling Google launcher - look for a guide.

Question about this. How is the remote control? I bought the same size 5 Series and the remote has no number pad, mute button, last or favorite channel options. I like the television (only 60 Hz) as it has been reliable. The remote does it a tremendous disservice and isn't worthy of any television today.

Subjective, but hit and miss for me. Had a nice Sony 50" (as a pc monitor), started doing stupid stuff right after warranty expired, have a TCL 50S525 (as pc monitor), has been rock solid for 5 years now.
