In case anyone is interested, unless something has changed - and I doubt it, this is double sided and not good for slim laptops.

If you want a single sided 4TB drive, you have to get the 990 Pro.

I have both in my laptop and my wife's laptops for a total of 8TB of space. The WD is double sided so it only fits in one port and the Crucial is single sided so it fits in the narrow port of my Lenovo Legion i5 Pro. Check youtube to see which would fit best in your laptop, or pop it open.

Not that I've noticed. I also always keep the back side of my laptop elevated to promote air flow for the fans. If you're putting you laptop flat on your desk, you're chocking the fans and your laptop overall will be more prone to overheating.

Depending what your time is worth to request RMA and drive to your post office to return it, may or may not be worth it for minimum wage

Thanks! I'm OK with the slow delivery and it probably won't be that long, have a Prime free trial option but would prefer not to trigger it until needed.

Prime shmime! Either the mfg will drop prices or not... the fact that 8tb drives have NOT come down to about $600 or new densitues released into maimstream is very telling.
