old processor, not as much support, doubled the price from the chromecast,
like WTF google?
Maybe they're realizing they need to discount this now due to its ancient hardware.

When it comes to being able put whatever you want, however you want it, Nvidia Shield is miles better than any commercial streamer on the market. The only way, I'd ever use an Apple product for TV streaming is if you used a Mac Mini.

Then my wife got an iPhone because it definitely makes things brain dead for non-tech people.
That's when I noticed that a lot of things do get better when you are bought into the Apple eco-system.
My opinion is that while you may be able to use it, there will most likely be some features that don't get used unless you are in the Apple eco-system.
It's by design.
e.g.
Feature A is brain dead to use if you Apple software.
If not, then you can still use Feature A,but have to jump through three hoops to get there.
As for this deal, I share the similar sentiment that at $170, it's a little much for its age.
edit: seems already mentioned and I agree, series S is more versatile and web browser is extremely good for streams
It got annoying having to force it to stay with the same version, so I put this in the bed room and got an Apple TV for living room

Yes its still more fluid & customizable of an experience than most TV OS & has Home Theater functions you wont find on any other device or Smart TV, but goddamit Nvidia... just give us a real hardware upgrade 2024.... Its nearly 10 years old now....
