If you have any desire to get an iPad (and you don't have any higher-end specific needs), this is a bargain.

For $200, you can run virtually any iPad application or iPhone application. It's an entirely capable device -- there's nothing "wrong" or poorly constructed with this model. Yes, other models have nicer features -- but they come at additional costs.

It's also relatively newish -- only one generation removed from current. So you'll get a few years of use out of it before Apple end-of-lifes it, just to get you to "upgrade".

This ipad plus one of those cheap android tracfones (even if you don't activate them on cellular) will give you the ability to run pretty much any mobile application available.

There are frequent sales on 13" M1 Macbook Airs (they are a 4 year old machine at this point), as well as sales on refurbished Dell business-class laptops (8th gen intel and later). For around $1000, you can get one device of each platform. No excuse to not be able to get anything done.

Wow what a deal. I know, it from 2021 and 64GB however it is perfect for internet browsing and social media consumption which is for 90% of folks out there.

Headphone jack and a home button are nice too!

Are you joking? Only $20 savings for an open return that is in fair condition is a fool's savings. Can get $10 off just with a target card.

What is the benefit of owning this compared to an Amazon Fire 10 HD tablet? The latest one has 3GB RAM and will be fine for most people. It's plastic, but it's only $99 and you should be able to sideload Google Play onto it.
I've had 2 Fire tablets. An HD 7 which was the worst experience I've had on any device. It took literally about 10 minutes from start up to be able to access any app that used the SD card. I also have the 10 HD now, and while the responsiveness is much better than the 7, the Amazon interface is still terrible. An iPad is still much more responsive and apps are actually made directly for iPads vs most Android apps just being blown up for screen size. I don't like Apple, but for a tablet I would absolutely buy this over any Amazon tablet.

Sorry but apple is ripping off. I bought a 7th gen several months after it came out for $220. Now theyre selling an iPad 3 years after release which has rarely drop much in price.
Then don't buy it. Zero reason for you to tell us all.

I am sorry, I was a little confused with your post. You don't own the IPAD 9th gen , right? If you have an much older IPAD that had 16gb storage I can see why you want higher storage. Your first sentence should be " I need something (a device) that has more then 64gb storage. My kids has very old Ipad with 16 gb storage and it is not enough to play their games on it. (yes, you are right, 16gb is not enough). Your post was very confused, but it sounds like you think the galaxy a9plus would work out better for you (more storage plus it has micrSD slot you can add 1TB if you want.)

Can your kids play those games on 64gb IPAD 9th gen? I would think so, no problems and probably much newer specs than the very old ipad they have. There are youtube videos that compare the ipad 9th gen 64gb model to the galaxy a9 plus. Maybe watch them to see what other peoples experience with both of them. People seem to think the IPAD 9th gen is a better constucted device, and they like the apples games on IPAD, and like other features. I do have android tablets and it is different experience then apple . Maybe get both devices. I have both android tablets and chromebooks , etc ... the IPAD does seem better constructed product and more polished. Is this for you or your kids, again I wasn't sure. Research which device would hold up better? In either case, you were sharing your concepts to us, and your first post was like a first draft. Maybe you can expand on your points after watching some youtube videos comparing IPAD 9th gen vs Galaxy A9 PLUS.
Just a heads up, in all your posts you keep writing IPAD. It's iPad. The whole thing doesn't need to be CAPS LOCKED every time.

They could have wrote it like that for something a few times and their phone autocorrects it to that. I wrote my friends name CASSI in my phone for an alarm reminder and every time i write her damn name it does that.

Maybe. But the user writes very long posts that seem way too much to be typing on just a phone, so my hunch is it's on a keyboard/laptop/desktop, and that's just what they think it's supposed to be written like.
If so, just correcting the constant unnecessary "IPAD" as if they're trying to emphasize that word every time it's used.

Wondering if worth upgrading from my 7th gen? Mostly web browsing, Netflix, and evening emails for work. The 7th gen will get iOS 18 but will probably be EOL afterwards
I did. If it's good condition you can get about $110 trade in at Best Buy for the 7th Gen. Or sell the 7th Gen to Back Market or other similar sites for around the same.

Or play roulette with Facebook Marketplace/OfferUp and maybe get up to $150 if you're lucky.

Edit:
Then it's basically paying $100 for 32GB extra storage for an iPad that works with all my existing accessories (case, screen protector, Apple Pencil, and Lightning cables).

By the time it's time to upgrade again the Lightning to USB-C will be complete, cases & pencil will likely be cheaper.

Perfect opportunity for me to make a move with minimal capital investment for a device that's served me well so far.

I upgraded my kid's ipad from 2020 (8th gen) to this one. yeah only one generation leap, but put it this way

I traded in the 8th gen 32gb ipad to bestbuy for $135 and got the 9th gen with 64gb upgrade for $65.00

a 4 year old ipad with practically daily use amongst two kids after 4 long years I get a fresh battery, double storage and a slightly faster chip for $65+tax after trade in. Its a win for me

Don't your remember the days of iPad 1 and iPad 2 when $500 was a good deal? And those iPads were so much worse than the $200 iPads of today... and that's not even taking into account inflation and how much more $500 was back than than it is today.

Does the Best Buy filler need to be tech related? I cannot seem to get the $25 off $250 even though I have activated the offer

If you're referring to the BB Member $25/250 offer, it's not an immediate discount. You spend $250 then a few weeks later, BB will send you a $25 Rewards Certificate.

Best buy had them for $199 around Christmas last year.
I've tracked these for the last 2 years definitely never saw $199 anywhere. The lowest I've ever seen was Target/Amazon/Best Buy last year for $229.00.
