I'm curious to know why so many air fryers are moving away from having an inner basket that you can remove to dump the contents out when finished cooking.

With this model, the contents can not be dumped out or you will get all the excess oil and crumbs along with it. Huge annoyance.

Gotta love those pictures lol. Who fills their air fryer that full? It doesn't even look like it can be closed.

How's it compare with the $39.99 Gourmia at Costco?

Good point, thanks. I guess I'll keep my old Gourmia.

Buy from Costco, you will get lifetime returns service! You don't think it is much better than one year manufactured warranty? 🙂

I don't recall many older air fryers models having the inner basket. Most air fryers I've seen use the removable crisper tray bottom. The only ones I've ever seen that have the inner basket are some of the Insignia (Best Buy) models.

Which have all but been recalled. Pretty sure Best Buy got out of the air fryer game because this is the second mass recall they've had on their air fryers and they no longer are selling new units which is why I've been holding off on doing my recall.

I just had a ninja air fryer that tried to burn my house down. I thought it was from Costco but it wasn't so now I need to buy another. Next one will be from Costco lol

This is actually a decent air fryer for the price. I've had it for a few months. The only thing i'd say is that it always seemed a bit more powerful than what recipes call for. Say the recipe is 10 mins at 400, I have to do 8 mins at 365 or something to avoid burning whatever is in there. Not a problem really, just something i have to consider. That said, in person, the unit feels a lot more premium than the price point would suggest

My guess is, we've had ones with removable inner baskets where the mechanism to remove them fails. In the case of this design with no inner basket, most of them, the basket is dishwasher safe so after emptying hot grease into a glass jar, it goes in the dishwasher for more thorough cleaning.
