I shucked these before and I got EXOS.
What are some examples of a better and better-priced HDD? Looking for one right now.

But there are reports the newer ones are Barracudas, not Exos, which makes me a sad panda.
Decided to put in NAS server with other drive. Same size.
Just for video back up and other files. Took out out the case.

These drives were the ones that went down to $100 on clearance at Costco last year. Now Costco doesn't sell any external hard drives. At that time, they had exos Mach 2 dual actuator drives in them.
Seagate external drives only have a 1yr warranty. WD does 2 or 3 depending on whether it's an elements or my book. The Seagate specs don't say anything about power on hours or work load. So you could use it as heavily a you want in the enclosure and still claim the warranty if it fails in the first year
