Correction, it is 120 W/Ch (8 ohms, 20 Hz-20 kHz, 0.08% THD, 2-ch driven, FTC), not 20W

This is a great receiver. Dirac is so much better than the standard Onkyo room correction. I love mine.
Upgraded to this mostly because I got a second sub. Disappointed to find out after that they are not two separate sub controllers, just two outputs for the same signal. That's on me for not researching better, but just fyi.

I have the Onkyo TX-NR7100 which has the Dirac. The only reason this is tempting is the pre-outs.

Thanks so far enjoying it came from a Yamaha older 7.2 and the initial Arcam setup was complex to say the least 🤣 had to read the user manual front and back to get it setup correctly. I'm surprised none of these receivers have dedicated apps to set up and do the options

I own a few Arcam units as well as this Onkyo RZ50
Arcam ..and most of the boutique and higher end brands....dont have the guided set up that the Asian brands have
Likely because they were historically sold by B&M independent A/V retailers or custom installers who have the personal service associated with them

I bought the first Arcam unit from an independent B&M retailer and he explained the set up and it went without a hitch

If you're dependent on internal amps, likely,7(80 watts) vs 9(120 watts).

Here is a comparison of both.

Yes feel your pain, the Arcam setup quirks are not fun at all!
This is much more user friendly!

there is not a single AVR available today at this price point that has multiple independent subwoofer outputs.
if that is your goal then you either need to spend a lot more money to get that feature or go outside the AVR correction software (miniDSP or built-in individual sub DSP). those may be less expensive options anyway.

Ordered a good bit into the Deal and mine shipped today @749 plus tax. Reviews seem to say this is a great receiver for the price. Replacing my 6 year old Sony ES 5000. Any suggestion for an external amp to use for the 2 heights to get full Atmos?

You don't need an external amp for the height channels, unless you need more power. This has 9 channels powered.

Technically you would need an external amp to match that Sony, I believe it has 11 channels powered.

As a matter of fact with this you have to power the extra two channels externally.
They are not assignable, not ideal imo.
