I think I got a type 1 manufacture date in the back is 2024 33-B3
That's a type 1, type 2 has "20v max" on the right of the dewalt logo in the black stripe area.

Hands down the best 20V tool DeWalt makes. Own two--one for emergencies in the back of the truck, and the second in the garage for everyday use.

Best feature is the high-altitude adjustment to maintain proper pressures. Very useful.
Details on what it does for the high-altitude adjustment???

I use mine every day, despite having a large air compressor and a pancake type. Got it at Bomgaars, cheaper at the time.

I got this. Handier to hookup. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...asin_title

Adjusts the pressure to account for lower atmospheric pressure at high altitude...you do have to enable that mode during start up, but it's spot on...

Luckily mine arrived from Amazon today as a type 2 unit. If this is important to you, then I would go to Lowe's or Home Depot with this in stock and price match to Amazon. Make sure the front of the box has the big "20V" in the upper right corner.

I have quite a few dewalt tools -- this one is probably the best. Word has gotten out about it, now i'm responsible for every family members tire pressure.

Bomgaars usually has these things on sale in summer & winter for $80-90. Lowes or Homey Depot chat will sometimes price match for you. But if you must order from Amazon, then use your prime credit card for 5% cash back. Type ii is best thing since chicken fried rice.

Yeah, this doesn't sound like a shameless vendor plug. Like, how would you know what the build quality is like? Oh and btw, will this also inflate your air mattress and pool? ok. I'll bite for the sake of giving you the benefit of doubt.... what was it exactly that the Dewalt unit didnt do well for you, other than " I got tired "?

I have this model with plastic chuck that lost rubber gasket tightness if you will and let's the air through, just like ryobi one. Some of these models come with brass chuck and some production units have plastic! What i got tired of is the damn large charger and multitude of batteries and then the batteries stop charging after a year and the charger just flashes red. Then I got tired of the large size of these units. I have nothing to do with the vendor lol or Costco, I was just searching for a rechargeable unit, made out of metal, having durable connector that will last years and accurate psi where it actually goes above 1psi, then stop and that's your perfectly accurate psi. Believe it or not, this unit has it all what I needed, I don't inflate mattresses….so if you add the batteries to the mix you can get 4 Costco ones that will last you multiple lifetimes…

This DeWALT inflator has a brass chuck, not plastic. It replaced my CAT PPSCL3 that I got from Costco, which also had a brass chuck. The problem with the CAT was that there was too much resistance between the chuck and the hose causing the hose to twist when threading the chuck. That twist would spring back a quarter turn with each half turn you put into threading the chuck. It makes it take twice as long and lose twice as much air when connecting/disconnecting.

Depending which batch you get! Some have brass, other, like me, got plastic!

I have this, I have two Ryobi. I got tired of these big inflators with expensive batteries. I gave Costco a chance and this was the best decision ever. The company called Fanttik, the build quality is insane, the tire pressure adapter is made of metal, not plastic like all of these and they do wear out. It's extremely accurate and will inflate to the perfectly accurate psi, which none of these units will do. I realize not everyone has Costco membership, but… this unit is also only $50:

https://www.costco.com/fanttik-s1...30430.html

That's great if you own a car or motorcycle! I've always wondered how many times I'd have to recharge it to get 80psi into my truck tires considering my Dewalt 60v pancake compressor takes a good while to get those bad boys topped off.

I can verify that the Dewalt inflator will get a 2.5 bathroom plumbing drain system pumped to 5psi for testing.
