For the sale price yes. Full retail, no. Went from a sealy office chair (pleather) to this and there is a big difference, still use it daily but I do not think they are $300+ chairs.

i bought this about 10 yrs ago on sale for like $90 or something. over the years I think i replaced every single parts on this chair. good thing about this is all replacement parts were provided for free from warrantee. worst part of this chair is that it does not lock the chair on leaning position.

my next chair definitely won't be dexley tho. i spend 8+ sitting on chair in front of computer. I think investing in good chair is a must if you are in a situation like me.

I bought this in like new condition off of marketplace for $50. It is a great chair but I would not spend $100 or more on it, anything under is acceptable. I like the height it offers, it is very wide and comfortable, lumbar support takes some getting used to if you're not used to it. I would recommend for Under $100.

Yes. One of my favorite chairs I've ever owned. I regret giving it to my wife to use since I "upgraded" to a Herman Miller Aeron. I preferred the dexley

Yes, absolutely. My chair is a work tool for me. My Hyken gave me debilitating back problems which I only realized after nicking my HM Mira from the office during covid.

If I had to buy a new chair today I'd pay retail for a HM. The Mira 2 is that good to me and this Hyken/Dexley just that awful. My HM has been going for eight years now without problems. My Hyken failed in less than a year. (Piston, $20 replacement) It was also the third $300 chair I had bought in a 7 year span. At this point, if I kept buying $300 chairs every few years I would have already outspent my HM.

Boots theory in practice.

I got one of these earlier this year for my home office. It's a solid 6/10 for me. Comfortable enough for office work for a few hours, but nothing to write home about. I do worry about how long the mesh will last compared to a cloth seat

Check your local public surplus auction websites, too. I just got a Steelcase in great condition from a local government building for $6.
$6 is actually crazy. Good buy.

This gets asked every 3 months on here and the answer is: YES. When it is on sale it is probably the best cost/performance you will get out of a chair. It punches WAY above a 150 even 200$ chair. If you ignore people buying 1000$ Hermie Miller chairs at office wholesales that most of us don't have access to id say its worth the money at the 300$ even. Finding a good chair is hard. The market is loaded with crap.

Same price with Covid fillers in 2020. LOL. Would i buy again for $130, maybe, but nothing more. Basic chair. I have not needed to replace any parts over the last 5 years, but the chair has become a bit creaky over the last 12 months or so.

This chair is never available at 'full retail'. Staples always has it on sale somewhere between 119.99-179.99, the MSRP on all these chairs is a pipe dream. All of the chairs sold in office supply stores should not be purchased above $199.99 (maybe you could put the highest-end La-Z-Boy chairs like the Aberdeen in the $250.00 range, but almost without fail all of the Dexley/Hyken/etc stuff is really worth about $130 at most and can almost always be had for that price). As for quality-- it's decent, if you're stocking up an office you could do worse. If you've got the money to spend and wish for something better, something like a good Haworth on a discount would be miles and miles better than anything like the Dexley.
Why even bother comparing a $130 chair to a $1500 chair?

The mesh isn't comfortable against bare skin. If you sit in it shirtless it won't be nice. You'd have to drape a towel over it. The chair's ok. Comfort is average/above average but I probably wouldn't buy it again. It doesn't recline as far back as I'd like and the seat will sag with time. The 5 year warranty is excellent tho, I've replaced almost everything without hassle.

I purchased this chair the other day and the instructions pamphlet says it has a 7 year warranty. I assume they should honor that, since that is the documentation that came with the chair.

Highly Recommend This Office Chair!

I've been working from home for years and have tried several office chairs, but this one is by far the best. It's incredibly comfortable, and after four years of daily use, it still looks and feels brand new.
I recently bought a second one for my wife because she kept "stealing" mine, which really speaks to how great it is.
One tip: I highly recommend swapping out the stock casters for rollerblade-style wheels (you can find them on Amazon). It's an inexpensive upgrade that makes a huge difference in how smoothly the chair rolls.
Considering its comfort, durability, and great price, I can't recommend this chair enough.
