$270 at newegg, probably worth the extra $40 for 4 extra cores lol

If this isn't the best deal at this pricepoint for a gaming pc, what would be? For somebody not near a microcenter.

How much of an upgrade (if any) is this over a Ryzen 5 5600x3D?

*Edit. NVM, it's not an upgrade but a pretty decent downgrade when just taking into account gaming.

Like most Ryzens, this is still way over priced. You can get an i5 14600K couple days ago on sale for $150 and it runs circles around this Ryzen... Really wish AMD would lower their inflated prices.

for gaming? it really depends on the game, some need more cores rather than the 3D cache but for work product, it destroys the 5600x3D

I mean, the difference is that I already have an AM4 mobo and there's also zero chance I'm giving intel money because it's too much fun to watch intel burn. maybe I'd feel differently if they weren't basically the single most anti-consumer corporation of the past 50 years. intel is a bad company. they could give their parts away for free and I still wouldn't want them.

The Micro Center site wasnt showing the 5900x as being available. Just so happens they had my gaming PC and had recommended I get a new CPU.

Remember everyone. Cyber Monday is coming up. I think that is when we might see the 5000 series go down? I'm hoping at least.
