Is this garage safe? Anybody have any reviews? Looking for an upright
Manual suggests following for ambient temp:"To ensure proper ventilation for your freezer, the front of the unit must be completely unobstructed. Choose a well-ventilated area with temperatures above 60°F (16°C) and below 90°F (32°C). This unit must be installed in an area protected from the elements such as wind, rain, water spray or drips."https://manuals.plus/m/3f593482e2a22b5024b6aa6e6774582ceb6ce00d49f0b5e07dc9ae2b4a4e326d

Manual defrost, ugh.
Manual defrost is better. If you have an frost free, it runs through cooling and warming cycles constantly, causing freezer burn on your items. I'd rather have things last longer and do a manual defrost once a year than have it cycle.

Does not sound garage ready. Garages regularly get below 60*F and sometimes above 90*, depending on where you are.

Mine died after about 2 mo. of usage, it was in the garage. The warranty process was very slow and cumbersome, and it did not cover any of the spoiled food either. I had at least $200 worth of meat that went spoiled. I went with a different brand for replacement after my experience.

I have two of these, purchased in June 2024. I had both units running in the garage for more than a year, and recently ended up moving both to the utility room for convenience.

These are garage ready freezers and in my experience does a good job of maintaining consistent temperature even in peak southern summer. Ice will build up gradually and it will require a manual defrosting eventually, but I have not done that yet. I purchased it for around $210 and for the money it is a good deal.
