Great deal if you need batteries, don't let them fool you with the HP hype, 99% of us cant tell a difference

I have one non-HP battery connected to a Ryobi tire inflator in my car, which is used infrequently and another plugged into my Dyson vacuum via an adapter. I have not observed any unusual drainage on either of these non-HP batteries.

Not sure if it is just me, but if I leave the non-HP batteries hooked up to a tool and forget to disconnect it after usage, the battery gets drained in a couple of days. But if I leave a HP battery hooked up to a tool for a few days without usage, it doesn't get drained.

much better option IMO + your get high performance batteries. better to split with a friend ($99 each) if you not needing 6 batteries.

Not sure what tool it is that drains the battery. I leave mine in the air compressor, drills and it doesn't have this issue.

mine stay on my tool permanently and the only power loss is in the use of a tool naturally. never heard of this tool draining thing, could be something defective in that particular tool???

Most people wouldn't notice a difference without a point of comparison. But put two impact wrenches or drills side by side and run one with an HP battery, and almost anyone can hear it. The pitch is higher, which suggests it's spinning at a higher RPM than the same tool with a standard battery—even on a tool that doesn't use the extra HP contacts.

And trust me, if you're stuck on the side of the road after a tire rotation where the lug nuts were torqued way too high, you'll appreciate that extra power when you need a torque wrench that can actually break them loose.

Having said that, the $199 deal for 6 batteries (four HP) is a better deal IMHO.

Not a reply but an observation:

I have two HP tools - one hand reciprocal saw and a drill that will suddenly stop working with the HP batteries (even showing a full charge). Stopping the device (letting go of the trigger) usually works to "re start" it. Sometimes I have to take the battery off and re insert it to get the devices working again. I have not had this problem with my older non HP devices. I've seen it once or twice with non HP and a generic battery but those were close to drained so I didn't find that surprising.

Anyone else notice this?

$70 for two? I have plenty but could always use a couple more.
