If you need one of these, this is a buy now, think later kind of deal. Best receiver for the money for a 5.2.4 maxed out setup IMO.

I would add:For clarity I would suggest start by checking proper placement of all speakers and addressing room environment. That will make the biggest impact. With subwoofer/bass integration you have a bit of a bigger challenge. Two different subs is not ideal, the 15 will be limited to the 10s performance, tight or accurate punch is not the 15s strong suit & Yamahas has a known low sub output signal. If you do plan on trying to do it manually I would suggest looking into MSO software, it's free also.
I have a phase tech FL-12 sub. Do you think it would play nice with a Monolith M-12 V2? I'm thinking of adding it for the sub bass. Also, I scooped this receiver when the code was active

It depends.
If your wanting to properly integrate them for optimal performance.
It would be a big challenge & have to bring down the M-12 to the phase tech capabilities.

If you believe all you have to do is tuck in a corner, the skies the limit, it will be perfect.

Since you already have both subs, no harm experimenting...that's the whole fun of the hobby, instead of turning it into some overthinking, petty OCD competition between a bunch of self-righteous nerds. What's the worst that can happen? It doesn't work and you end up moving one of the subs to a different room or reselling it? No biggie...just play around with it! šŸ™‚

Will this come back? Just lost a channel on my Yamaha 7850. Need something really for center and rear surrounds. Must have pre-outs for the mains though. This would work.
