Yes, that's silly. You don't want to use the same blades for a table saw and miter saw. You want high hook angle teeth for the table saw to hold the material down to the table and low or negative hook angle teeth for the miter saw so the blade doesn't pull itself down into your cut. I think it would be a real rarity for me to share blades between them.

I own the DWS779 but I wish I bought this. The axial glide is a huge space saver depth wise. So if you're keeping it in your garage and space is a premium go for this. If you're wheeling out into the driveway or patio to make cuts the dewalt works just as well.

It's fantastic. I bought one used and it's been going strong for 3 years for me. The only major issue is that there's no laser or shadowline. I've read you can DIY a shadowline but I've never bothered. People complain about blade deflection but I've never had any issues. I think most of the people bringing it up have never used the saw.

I've been waiting for a good deal on the 10" version of this since I don't think I need the 12" and with 10" I can share blades with my table saw if needed. Are those silly reasons to get the 10" over the 12"? I also thought the 12" was a decent bit bigger and heavier than the 10", but I think the 12" is only 1lb heavier and 6.5" taller.

I initially bought a DWS780 (it's the 779 with a shadow line). The clearance required in the back was so much that I had to return it. I bought the Bosch instead and have it at a permanent spot on my workbench.

Only to realize that I really don't need it and can easily get by with a circular saw. And I have several perfect 90deg crosscut sleds for my table saw.
The Bosch is a joy to use. High quality. I have it on a rolling stand now.

I'd love to have this, but it wouldn't get used enough to justify the cost, even at this price.

I have the 10 inch version, and I love it. At this price, I probably would get the 12 inch.

Got lucky, scored one 35 miles away, but only 10 miles away from a birthday party we were attending today. If anyone is in S Cali they have 1 at the Redlands, and Moreno Valley stores the last time I checked.

No store pickup available in Plano, TX, but they have 1 for $40 shipping.
There's 1 available for pickup in W Dallas off Chalk Hill Rd.

I remain torn having both this and the dewalt 780 new in the box trying to decide which to return. I really like the 780s shadow line and regardless of saw I'm going to be mounting this on a Dewalt rolling stand so I can take it outside anytime.
Other than the rear clearance are there other features that push this saw far ahead of the dewalt 790? I'm still surprised. Bosch never put a laser or shadow line on this and I don't like the mod kits.

I just draw a pencil line across the board using my rafter square, then bring the blade down to test fit before I pull the trigger to make the cut. Old school process that works. Dont need no stinking laser or shadow box.
