However, I'd probably recommend some kind of extended warranty if purchasing from Adorama given I wasn't alone with problems from Onkyo receivers of this generation. I eventually replaced it with a refurbished Denon AVR-S760H and that's been going on 2 years without any hiccups.

I bought a Denon AVR-S970H a few years ago thanks to SD; was an incredible price at the time. It died ~2.5 years later, right after warranty ran out with, you guessed it, HDMI out failure. In fact there is a law firm doing research to see if bringing a class action lawsuit makes sense (you can try searching "Denon HDMI failure lawsuit" to find it so I'm not spamming the link).
All that to say, I am extremely hesitant to buy another Denon product and am curious if Onkyo have the same issue. I haven't heard of Yamaha or Pioneer having HDMI boards that die, so I'm leaning on waiting for something from either brand, ideally during BF or in the new year when new models come out.
(EDIT: Maybe I'm wrong. I think Denon is with Marantz? I just worry that there aren't that many different HDMI out chips, and if there is any ownership co-mingling at the top that, something like that would still get to be a plug-and-play part for the boards, but I'm no expert obviously.)

Onkyo/Klipsch/Integra/Pioneer is PAC, which is Sharp/PAC which is VOXX which is Gentex, which is a million large and small brands now.

The 7100 offers Dirac Live but the 2400 has access to A1EVO(Dirac Equivalent).

But the results - whew! I have a S760H and an Audyssey calibration on Preset 2, and a A1 Evo AccoustiX calibration now on Preset 1, so I can easily A-B test the setup. It's amazing how much better A1 is. It's not even close.
So - I'm very impressed. Working my way through the Star Wars movies again with an all new appreciation for audio.

There are several iteration of it that are much more intuitive.
Apparently, the new one(Gsonic-EVO32) is supposed to rival ART.
Not vested enough to completely follow it, I went with full suite of Dirac.
