However, I'd probably recommend some kind of extended warranty if purchasing from Adorama given I wasn't alone with problems from Onkyo receivers of this generation. I eventually replaced it with a refurbished Denon AVR-S760H and that's been going on 2 years without any hiccups.

Even for the included Dirac Live people often mention, you would need to buy another receiver to get it.
With A1EVO you don't need to & free!
As great as ART is.
It's not really worth it for the people that a main priority is budget/price to performance setups & don't run At least two good subs ime.
Especially when Dirac's Bass Control does most of the work anyways.
Dirac Live does not offer any of their sub/bass CORRECTION.
The only reason people say it's just for more than one sub is because proper implementation of more than one is a much bigger challenge.
Yes, in that aspect it is more a benefit.

You can also read what Dirac says ART does on top of that.

Some people(me included) don't need/use a sub(s) for two channel content(ie music).
As a matter of fact some front towers offer built in bass speakers.
They(me included) usually value quality "full tower" loudspeakers that can produce quality low bass frequencies including all other positions.
There is a reason why Dirac recommends reference "full" loudspeakers for at least your base layers & multiple subs for optimal performance(ideally 4) for ART.
Have you tried it yet..... oh wait never mind.
Especially great for outdoor music management.
** being able to have two separate pairs of speakers be powered while the main unit in standby is super great.
After reading the comments I'm not sure I miss out on anything.
Onkyo/Klipsch/Integra/Pioneer is PAC, which is Sharp/PAC which is VOXX which is Gentex, which is a million large and small brands now.
