Another slick deals front pager
Even after almost 6 years on the market..I still say its worth the $599 if its at least as sonically capable as the Onkyo RZ50 I used to own
Its somewhat amazing Onkyo is getting all this time out of these same models. I have never seen this phenomenon before
At this point they certainly have long captured their development costs and can sell them aggressively priced. Probably a good thing for a section of the market like slick deals
Actual owners seem to be very happy with these models
I suggest reading through the AVS owners' thread for information from them

If you're after Dirac Live, this is least expensive option right now.
Community Reviews
The TX NR7100 stands out as a budget friendly way to get Dirac Live, with the $599 price repeatedly framed as the cheapest current entry point and especially strong value when the extra code drops it further. It is praised for easy setup, solid sound, and enough power for normal listening, with 7.2.2 support and two sub outputs adding flexibility. The main drawbacks are its age, lack of pre outs, and basic AccuEQ fallback, plus reports of limp mode or protection behavior with low impedance speakers and occasional reliability concerns. A good fit if Dirac matters more than future proofing or heavy amp expansion.

See that's the issue I don't know what mid to upper tier used receivers I should be considering. I figured the pre outs would guarantee I can upgrade the front amps if needed to drive my Dynaudio Audience 72s. Have you got any units you can recommend?
This ended up being an all-day ordeal on my laptop but finally made my decision late last night on the TX-NR7100. I only have a 5.1 setup, which I'm happy with, and will not ever need the pre-outs. I never used them on my Yamaha. I didn't want to spend a $1000 so this one is in the perfect price range.
