Size (approx. 8" x 12" x 2/3") and weight (approx. 2.6 lbs.) makes this a nice portable option for people who don't like lugging around big laptops.
Keyboard is backlit.
Screen is not a touch screen. Unknown whether the screen is an IPS screen (However, see anecdotal report quoted below.)
Dell claims battery life of 19 hours, but this review [notebookcheck.net] reports 10-1/2 hours and another review reports [laptopmag.com] 11 hours. (Both reviews are for a slightly different version, having a touch screen.)
There's not very much difference in performance between the i5-8350U and the i7-8650U. So, while it's only a difference of $30 between the two models, it's only an improvement of a few percentage points in performance as well. Basically, $30 buys you the bragging rights for having the faster processor. Link to i5 model. [dell.com]
The ProSupport Plus for $25.09 for 3 years of enhanced warranty and accidental damage coverage is a great deal! Be sure to include this option if you decide to purchase this laptop.

For more info and commentary on Dell Latitude's build qualtiy see previous FP deal discussion, message numbers: 5, 13, 37, 41, 72, 74, 75, 76, 77, 80, 85, 90, 97, 124, 147.
I purchased the 7490 on eBay. Which apparently just has a bigger screen, It's has the i5-8350u (Not much different then the i7), Also has 16Gb of DDR4 Ram, 1080p Screen. 256Gb M.2 Sata Drive. Backlit Keyboard and full warranty support until March 2023. This cost me just $400. Which to me was a freaking damn steal. 3 years of full warranty with those specs cannot be beat.

[EDIT: ProSupport Plus for the i5-8350U model is $45.91 for 3 years, so that reduces the cost savings from $30 to $10 for that model. That being the case, I'd recommend that you stick with the i7-8650U model shown in the OP.]

Example, cited from previous FP deal, post no. 85:
Typing this from a Latitude 7390, purchased last year. A couple of questions came up in this thread.
1) Ram: I can confirm that the 7390 supports 32GB sticks. Note that it only has a single slot.
2) Dual drives: Possible, but the second drive must be 2242 form factor and be installed in the WWAN slot.
3) USB-C charging is supported.
4) Thunderbolt vs USB-C with DP: The main benefit of TB is to run an external GPU. Dell offers a USB-C dock (WD19) that for all practical purposes (networking and external displays and provides power to the laptop) offers the same features as the Thunderbolt dock (WD19TB).
5) Display: It's a matte IPS panel with about 300nits. The color reproduction is excellent.
6) Heat: My device does not get hot under normal use (around 100 tabs; typical office applications.)
7) ProSupport / ProSupport Plus are insanely cheap on this deal. Typically they cost at least thrice as much.
8) Battery Life is around 10 hours with 50% brightness and office work. The 3-year warranty on the battery for $5 or so should be an obvious purchase.
9) WWAN antennas are not pre-installed unless the WWAN option is selected.
10) It is very easy to upgrade SSD and RAM and to swap the battery.
11) Keyboard is backlit.
This is an ultra-portable high end laptop designed for execs; built to withstand constant travel (or toddlers). There are some compromises of course - no discrete GPU, matte displays only, no 4K options, and a understated design. It is a rubbish gaming laptop, and not great for watching movies in bed (a glossy 4K display would be better, although obviously at a significant battery life cost). But it's an amazing machine for work and travel (and ProSupport Plus essentially provides worldwide NBD coverage.)

I'm I missing something? Is it capped at 8GB

I don't get the price of this either. I would assume at $600 it is at least with better battery or 2 ram slots.
As to battery life, I haven't seen any complaints about battery life (other than batteries that died after a year's usage). If the battery lasted only 4-5 hours, I'm sure that would have generated some complaints. Indeed, anecdotal reports are that the batteries last somewhere between 10-11 hours of normal use.

But Ebay refurbished specifically tells you the reseller is not approved by the manufacturer. Doesnt this void the warranty?
