This drive or WD sn750. Some gaming, light video editing and light photoediting , only thing that concerns me with this drive was that it runs a little hot compared to the Sn750. I purchased the Sn750 with heat sink so ill be putting an aftermarket heat sink on this one as well to help but also for aesthetic reasons. This drive would save me 37$ before 5% amazon discount on both orders.

SN750 WD Black is more consistent during load and it cost $20 more.
How fast are these compared to what's on the PS5 ?
Trying to see if I can upgrade storage this way
Don't believe it's possible to upgrade PS5 storage currently due to consumer drives being slow in comparison. The PS5 does have another slot to put in another drive in future. I have feeling Sony will release a drive for this slot by end of the year
Installed this in my omen 30l's 2nd NVME slot and I'm not getting too close to the advertised speeds ("up to" 3400 MB/s).
I ran maybe 10 tests on both the stock WD black sn750 that came with my PC and the crucial p5. The sn750 beat it by 15-20% each time — pretty much hitting its advertised speeds. The max sequential read I got on the p5 was like 2800-2900 MB/s — definitely never got anything in the 3's.
I think I'm going to be patient and return this for a deal on either the Hynix or another wd black

For anyone interested, feel free to read through the thread from the last time this deal popped up as there's some good comparisons to other drives:

This is only 3400mb/s sequential read. Don't think you can find another storage as fast as the ps5 SSD on the market.
